Other things to note

Upon your arrival you will find the tiny house is well stocked with snacks and refreshments for your enjoyment. There will be all the fixings for your first breakfast.

A little bit about the Cabin:
This used to be a DX gas station many years ago. It was moved 2 doors to the east instead of being torn down. It was used for many years to house an HO scale model railroad. All the windows were boarded up. We acquired the property in 2012 because we fell in love with the "cabin". We converted it back to an inhabitable structure. A dormer was added and windows were installed. There are before and after pictures in the guest book located in the cabin.

Things to see around Algona:
Algona used to be a POW camp during WWII. There is a POW museum in downtown Algona. There is an Ag Motorsports museum located in the Algona Fairgrounds. Algona has an Aquatic Center on the south edge of town. There is a tennis court and miniature golf course located by the aquatic center. There are several eating and drinking establishments in and around Algona. Algona has a manmade lake and nature center just a few miles north of town. Union Slough National Wildlife Preserve is located approximately 15mi. north of Algona. The Grotto in West Bend is appr. 20mi. SW of Algona. The Wild Rose Casino is located 25mi. west in Emmetsburg. The Surf Ballroom is in Clear Lake, 45mi. east, where the Buddy Holly memorial is located. Lake Okoboji is appr. 70mi. to the northwest.

There are 2 golf courses within a couple miles of Algona. The Country Club Golf Course is just a mile west of Algona. The River Road Golf Course is about 3 miles northeast of Algona on River Road. The beautiful Spring Valley Golf Course is about 13 miles southeast of Algona.

Call State Park is located about a mile south of Algona. There are camping facilities at the park along with a shelter house. There is a very nice Frisbee golf course located inside the park.

Janie and Bob are wonderful hosts. Great communication and very helpful. Stocked with lots of snacks and drinks. A lot of cute decorations. This provided a wonderful place while in the processing of moving. A great reprieve from that hubbub. Would stay here again should we find ourselves returning to Algona for a visit. Thanks for sharing your tiny house with us.

This Tiny House did not disappoint. We had so much fun seeing just how complete this little home could be in 300 sq feet. All our needs were met and then some! My 6-yr-old loved climbing the ladder to the loft! Janie and Bob were great hosts and were easy to communicate with and prompt with answers. The space was clean and the kitchen contained everything I needed to make some nice meals which saved us some money during our stay. We will definitely book again and recommend this to family and friends visiting Algona!

This tiny house was an amazing place to stay! They had snack and drinks in there and everything was so clean in the house. There was a fire pit with wood provided and it was really fun to have fires at night. Such an awesome place to stay and would highly recommend to anyone! I usually don't like staying in someone else's place because I feel dirty but I honestly felt at home in their cabin/tiny house. They even had a flower and chocolate by the bed as they knew it was our anniversary. Thanks for an awesome anniversary trip!!

We are a retired couple in our sixties. We live next door and we purchased the cabin property a few years ago because we loved the cabin. We enjoy riding motorcycles and we like to travel, either on the bikes or otherwise. We both grew up in larger cities and have really become accustomed to small town living.
