The space

Sleeps 5, restored sandstone house boasts a great entertaining room & deck, two bedrooms separated by floor of living space. Luxury king bed w en-suite. Three singles in other. Walk to the city, museum, galleries, botanic gardens, Opera House/bridge.

If you want somewhere quiet and comfortable, close to all you could need, this is the place for you. A very ambient space with no aircraft or traffic noise, that you will not want to leave...but if you do you can walk to all the sites and sounds of Sydney.
This is a shoe free house :) To keep it pleasant for all.
This terrace is unique because of the layout.
On the first level there is an open plan lounge, then dining leading to a large deck.  Perfect for relaxing.  The deck has a gas BBQ with a northerly aspect, travertine floor and comfy lounge.  The lane is amazingly quiet for being so close to the city.  No traffic or aircraft noise:)
A leafy, pretty side access also gives a sense of security, plus the jasmine covered wall gives a great scent.  From the street this 140 year old terrace hides an abundance of treats within its rustic and original facade.
Downstairs (on ground level) is a full new kitchen, bathroom with spa bath and shower, second bedroom and hallway where entry is located. The King Singe bunk bed has good quality mattresses (x 2 new December 2016) suitable for adult or child. The third bed is a free standing single.
The second floor is the lounge and dining leading to the large deck.  In the lounge area a cozy rug covers antique floorboards over a foot wide, adding to the character and charm of the home.  Newly restored sandstone walls give a sense of the old meeting new, with a warmth and protection second to none.
On level three, a king size bed (most comfy you will ever lay on). Hypoallergenic - anti-fungal, anti-dust-mite, anti-allergy. Also perfect support for your back.  You will sleep like a baby guaranteed. There is also a new en-suite with shower, toilet and basin. So no need to go down two flights of stairs to the other bathroom.
The total house floor measure is 128 square meters.  Comprising of - Living area 29 sq/mt, with additional 13 squ/mt deck.  Downstairs kitchen, hall, bathroom and bedroom are 45 squ/meters. Back courtyard 12 sq/mt. Upstairs bedroom is approx 29 sp/mt but take into account the pitched roof.
INTERNET: you will be logged in on arrival. Illegal downloads will be reported and internet ceased.
PARKING  You will find street parking but only with meters.
There is a great car park at the Domain, and the rates are very reasonable. Weekends are $10 per/day and weekdays early bird is $17 per/day.  Domain is 900meters away. I use Go-Get car/SUV/Van when my car is in the shop and they are great.

You will find the house extremely clean, but rustic with many heritage items. Linen is fresh and crisp and sun/air dried whenever possible.
House vacuumed with a powerful Dyson, and steam mop used to kill germs, plus I try to only use eucalyptus for safety and environmental reasons.
The flat screen TV has an HDMI cable so you can watch Netflix with your computer or comparable device.

I also provide a concierge service available to all clients. We are happy to arrange the following upon request;
•Airport pickups & drop offs
•Wine & cheese platters on arrival
•Grocery shopping
•Spa packages
•Restaurant bookings
•Car hire
•Surfing lessons
•Babysitting

For example, on one day I drove to Bondi, did shopping, then school pickups in the afternoon, for 5 hours and it was under $45 and includes all insurance and fuel, much more cost effective than hire cars, and you don't need to find parking as there are allocated go-get spots everywhere.

Little or as needed

It comprises 20 blocks bounded by Barcom Avenue, Forbes and Oxford Streets and Taylor Square.

Darlinghurst boasts Oxford Street, Sydney’s most famous strip shopping street, where you will find everything from supermarkets to gift shops, through to alternative clothing boutiques, late night bookshops and music stores.

Darlinghurst is home to range exceptional designer and home wares outlets, as well as a great selection of various ethnic cafes and restaurants, from basic to up market.

Oxford Street' exclusive cinemas, the Chauvel and the Palace Academy Twins and Palace Verona, specialise in foreign and art
house films and International Film Festivals.

389 route on next corner, takes you to Bondi Beach, City and Circular Quay (Ferry to everywhere).
I have a bike in the back courtyard with a baby seat available, which is a great way to see the city and parklands.
If your children are small, there are a few scooters also at your disposal.
Two small bikes, one with trainer wheels and one suitable for 5-7 year old, both in as new condition.
On nearly every street corner in Darlinghurst / City you can find a 'go get' or 'car share' vehicle. Even a big van if you want to pack up the bikes and surfboard and go on a day trip. I use go-get when my car is in the shop and they are great. Simply sign up and use my address as your Australian base then your card will be sent here ready for you. The house is in a fab spot - walkable to the city, great restaurants, Paddington and Oxford St. House is most suitable for family with 2 or 3 kids. We made it work but the listing implied there was a sofa bed which there wasn't. I understand this Nicole's house but the 3 pages of house rules on the kitchen bench seemed completely over the top and not very welcoming! Be careful with bathrooms- we had an issue with the self locking door and locked ourselves out! Highly recommend Phamish the Vietnamese restaurant just up the road!

Response from Nicole:
I am always shocked with the 14th day, 11th hr, stab at a host. Very very sad and immature. Hoping that by leaving it to that time the host will have not right of reply. Cunning and calculating would be descriptive words for this character. As Jo was fully aware, I had whooping cough and very sick. Still she insisted on having problems they had caused rectified immediately in person when really the problem was theirs to fix. Out of courtesy, and top service in mind, I attended only becoming even sicker and being hospitalised. Never did Jo once use polite conversation and only barked demands. The house manual is to assist guests feel at home. The rules are only three lines long as you will see on site. The house manual is for guests to understand idiosyncrasies and the like in this heritage house, and not have to call on the host to fix all their problems. I think Jo is more inclined to fly by the seat of her pants, break thing, lose things, cause problems and call on others for assistance rather than treating others homes with the respect and philosophy Airbnb commands. There is NO sofa bed offered, and Jo booked the house with this in mind, as you will find on the site, and JO never had in mind at time of booking that this was an option. it was only on finding old documents at the house that she chose to dispute this, but then understood completely she was looking at old documents and never expected a sofa bed to be available for her stay. I found Jo gruff and impolite in all communications and it was very unsettling from the start and I would not want to impose this guest future hosts. Sadly I was too sick to tend to all my work and did not review Jo or I would have definitely not recommended this two faced individual. Please be very wary of taking this type of person on as a guest as I only envisage problems and stress for those who do. I love to share my home with others and meet new people. This sadly was an exception.

The house is fantastic, a great spot in the centre of the city with lots of charm. Plenty of space for our family of 2 adults and 3 kids. Nicole was welcoming, helpful and available. I would highly recommend this place.
