About this listing

Our house was built in the '20 as a shop. It's on the corner of a street with huge windows (a lot of light!). It is located in the family friendly area of Amsteldorp, a village-like neighbourhood within walking distance of Amstel train

Description

The space

The front part of the house consists of a living room and open kitchen (with facilities such as microwave+oven and dishwasher) and the back part of the house has two big rooms for our children (of 1 and 4 years old). Our sons room is connected to a small, patio-like backyard. There is also a bathroom (with bathtub and separate shower) and a separate toilet. Downstairs there is a storage room with a washing machine and the master bedroom. This basement bedroom is connected in a mezzanine-like way with the living room, and therefore has access to natural light.

Guest access

Guests can access the whole house.

Interaction with guests

We will connect you to our neighbours while we are away so they can help out with any queries.

The neighbourhood

Amsteldorp has the best of both worlds: on the one hand side it's a lovely, quiet, village-like neighbourhood with some of the best playing grounds of Amsterdam, green parks and within 15 minutes walking distance a shopping street (bookstore, clothing shops, a very popular ice-cream parlor, supermarkets, etc) - yet on the other hand you are within 7 minutes by subway in the bustling centre of Amsterdam and a short tram ride from the popular De Pijp neighbourhood and Museum quarter.

Getting around

It's a 7 minute walk from our house to Amstel station, where one can find trains (to all over the Netherlands - for example, it's only 20 minutes by train to Utrecht), as well as the subway, a bus station and taxis. There is also a bike-shop at the station where you can rent out bikes.
Our neighbourhood also has plenty parking spaces, yet it's paid (except for Sundays)
