As you step through the ancient doors into the souk styled hallway, you are transported to another world. Damai is a luxurious, stylish apartment that embodies the perfect blend of boho charm and wabi-sabi elegance. This unique retreat offers an inviting open-plan living area with warm, earthy tones, natural textures, and curated vintage decor.

The space
Damai (meaning "peace" in Indonesian) is a place of calm and serenity.

Imagine a beautifully renovated apartment in an old Totnes building. As you move into the living area, your eyes are immediately drawn to the enormous windows that dominate one wall, flooding the space with natural light and framing breathtaking views over Totnes. Deep window seating adorned with cushions like that of a Moroccan Riad where you can enjoy watching the sunset over the historic town's rooftops and charming streets below.

The exposed stone walls, aged and textured, bringing a sense of strength and timeless beauty to the space. These walls showcase the building's history, their natural tones complementing the earthy, neutral palette that flows throughout.

The kitchen is thoughtfully designed, with sleek, modern cabinetry in soft, matte tones to harmonise with the natural textures in the room. A Belfast sink, quartz countertops, brass fixtures add vintage appeal and sophistication. Along with the perfect addition of a wine fridge.

Two bedrooms both with King Size beds, adorned with luxurious 400TC pure cotton sheets and duvets sourced here in Totnes. Bedroom 2 can also be configured as a twin beds upon request.

Both bedrooms have stunning ensuite bathrooms crafted in micro cement by a local artisan. Bedroom 2 ensuite has a small walk in wardrobe/cupboard behind the antique Asian rice farmers door.

Together, all these elements create a harmonious blend of rustic charm and modern style, making this space a luxurious yet inviting sanctuary. The perfect place to stay to capture Totnes's quaint yet vibrant spirit.

There are just too many to list , but here are some of our favourites, Hairy Barista , 5 doors down from Santai, the go to for the best coffee and incredible cakes. The Bull Inn, just wow, for lunch or dinner and thats 5 doors the other way from Santai. Also on your door step great pubs and bars, The Brew house, The Angel all within a minute. Sunday mornings are made for starting the day at Totnes cinema for a coffee whilst you relax to live jazz.

Riverside Beauty and Walks: Wander along the River Dart to take in the stunning natural scenery. You can enjoy a relaxing riverside stroll or, for a more adventurous twist, take a river cruise to Dartmouth. Nature enthusiasts can also explore the nearby South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with scenic walking trails and opportunities for bird-watching and exploring hidden coves.

Within 30mins you have the sheer beauty of Dartmoor and 30mins or less the other way some of the UK's best beaches. The list goes on. Good news we have lots of books in the apartment about the local area.
