Interaction with guests

I live in the adjoining cottage and I'm happy to give local information and tips. The cottage is self-contained so the amount of interaction is entirely up to you.

Bampton is the nearest village (approx 5 miles) where you will find an excellent baker, butcher, fruit and veg shop and 2 small general stores.
There is also a fish and chip shop, several pubs, coffee shops/restaurants and a deli.

Getting around

The cottage is wonderfully remote so a car is helpful. The nearest train station is Tiverton Parkway, a 20 minute drive. I can offer a pick-up service for an additional fee, just let me know in advance. It is advisable to stock up with supplies on the way due to our remoteness. Nearest shop 5miles.

Amazing stay here! The pictures don't do the space justice. Lovely location and garden, and the cottage was very comfortable with everything one could need! Wish we could have stayed longer!

A wonderful idyll, a lovely peaceful cottage with lovely log burner and range (amazing for baking fresh bread). Fantastic for exploring Exmoor and Devon/Somerset.

Superb value for money. It's a bit of a trek around the lanes to get onto Exmoor (if that's what you're after), but the house is in a beautiful and peaceful spot, well appointed, and with lovely hosts.

When I arrived i was really pleased with how peaceful and calm the place seemed! The house is absolutely beautiful, along with the view a 360° view of the countryside. When i walked in i was really amazed, the place is even more beautiful in real life. The fireplace in the living room is huge, with logs stacked up and the fire already placed and made ready for lighting. The pretty fairy lights above the wood burner are lovely. From walking around you realise this place has everything. It was just myself and a pooch on this trip, but for families it would be fab with a Wii, DVD's, board games, books lots of things to keep people occupied. It was very kind to see milk, fresh eggs, ciders, in the fridge and ice cubes. The kitchen is large and has everything you need, i even wanted a blender and bam a hand blender was found!! I love a nice bubble bath, and usually when i stay in places i forget to bring the bubbles! I remembered this time but was pleased to find bath creme ready and waiting, the water is hot and comes out fast and the shower pressure is lovely also. Every window has a window seat, sitting here and looking out is very relaxing. I'm still in the living room now as I write this and am very reluctant to leave!! I will gladly come again!!! Just beautiful with lovely walks all round! Thank you very much!

Wow, this place is fantastic! It's location is gorgeous and the views are amazing. Communication was always spot on. We were going to a wedding at Huntsham Court on both the Friday and Saturday. I asked Marilyn if she knew a local taxi service. Immediately she responded that Martin would be able to take care of this for us by being able to take us and pick us up both days ! We have had some lovely Air BNB experiences, but I think this took it up a notch making it one of the best we have ever had. It was home from home, everything was provided - including towels and eggs, milk, butter, tea & coffee. Plenty of additional herbs, oils & sauces in the kitchen, it's such a nice touch. The kitchen is very well laid out with farmhouse table. There is a regular cooker but we used the Rayburn stove (I miss it !). The big double bed was very comfortable and a further 2 bedrooms (both very cute) that we did not use. The bathroom has a shower & bath, with all soap/gels provided should you need. We also made the most of the log burner, that was really cosy on Sunday night when it was absolutely chucking it down. We had a super walk one day and a drive out on another, to explore some of this fabulous area. The location is 5 ️. But the air bnb app is playing silly buggars and won't let me enter this !

I love living in Devon! I'm a practice nurse in the local village. In my spare time I make the most of the local area with cycling, walking and swimming.
