About this listing
This is a large Victorian house, with a character and in the heart of Halifax. We're located writhing 5 minutes walk to Dalhousie University, 10 minutes to the Quinpool District and on bus routes 1 and 14, which can take you everywhere in the city!
This is a unique place because it is a family home. We take great care to keep the place clean. The home is also in a quiet neighbourhood and although we are in a traffic heavy area (only at rush hour times: 3-6pm), the house is good with blocking out the sound. It is a very cozy home :)
Guess has access to their room, 2nd floor bathroom, 1st floor restroom, living room, dining room/kitchen, backyard, back deck, and BBQ. We also have shared washer and dryers, and kitchenette.
For amenities, we have Internet and cable.
Unfortunately, we do not have parking. You are welcome to park on the back or side streets (Larch to Jennings). The parking on the streets is 2 hours between 8am and 6pm, Mon-Fri. After that there is unlimited parking.
Interaction with guests
I will be living in the house; however, I do Hae my own bathroom and will mostly be out or in my room. We can interact as much or as little as you would like.
If you're available one night and would like company I will be glad to spend some time talking or watch the TV. If you're a more private person and would like to keep to yourself, that is perfectly fine as well :)
It is a very quiet neighbourhood. It can get busy during rush hour times but the driveway is accessible through the back as well, so there is little trouble getting here!
Bus numbers 1 and 14 come by right in front of the house. The 1 goes to downtown in one direction and to the mall in the other direction. The 14 also goes to downtown as well as the mall so you'll always be able to catch the bus.
There's also a number to call to check bus times so be sure to ask when you first arrive.
Other things to note
We have a house cat so be ware of allergies!
Lastly, we don't have a lock for any of the rooms at the house. Everyone in the house has enough common sense to keep out though.
Please respect others and respect the things in the house. Since it is a family home we have many things that are sentimental to us. Please try not to break anything. Drinking is alright but please don't party hard.
