Our lovely room offers a private bath, hardwood floors, a comfy bed and a great location in downtown Kelowna.

We help you wake up with your first cup of coffee, or tea. The kitchen can be used to prepare simple meals, leaving everything clean and tidy. We'll provide you with some shelf space in the pantry and fridge space as well.

For those with a car, street parking is free.

The space

Our nearly-new downtown Kelowna home is quite lovely. Your room is on the main floor, which features hardwood floors throughout and tasteful art. The double bed is a new, high-quality spring-based futon. There is a chair (with lap desk for working with your laptop) and dresser in the room and plenty of closet space. The adjacent four piece bathroom is exclusively yours for nighttime use (no one else sleeps on this floor) and bathing/showering.

We are a quiet, friendly, couple who work from home. We have one small, friendly, non-shedding and quiet dog named Biscuit. The deck and courtyard garden are good places places to enjoy the sunshine, play board games and read. You can also hang out in the living room and dining area.

You can walk to downtown restaurants, shops, lakeside boardwalk, and beaches. Swimming, boating and hiking, along with amazing views are very close by. Wine tours are fabulous and in the winter, two amazing ski locations (Big White and Silver Star Mountain) are just an hour away.

Public transit is a block away.

You may use the kitchen to prepare light meals, leaving everything clean and tidy after each use. There is some space in the fridge, and some shelf space for you in the pantry.

Laundry is available for $5/load, with soap provided.

Interaction with guests

We work from home in our offices on the second floor. We enjoy chatting with guests when we're not working to deadlines and we're always happy to make recommendations for restaurants and our favorite activities. We have books to loan on wine touring and hiking trails.

Other things to note

Kelowna is a wonderful place to visit, and to live. We moved here ten years ago from the Toronto area and just love the beauty of nature and the ease of connecting with nature here. We also love that Kelowna has great restaurants, live theatre, symphony, ballet and opera, and the best shopping in the Southern Interior of B.C.

Kelowna is centrally located in the magnificent Okanagan Valley, making it a great jumping off point for tours of the north and south valley, easily achievable in day trips from our home. There are several excellent wine touring companies who handle all the driving, if you wish, leaving you free to imbibe to your happy place limit.

One no-charge, private, 45 minute, personally guided introduction to mindfulness meditation is available to guests who request it, if Paddy is home during your visit. You must specifically request it because we will not otherwise bring it up.

It is important that our guests are quiet as we respect our neighbour's right to quiet. So no loud music please and only quiet conversations on the deck in the evenings.

Paddy and Joanne have a beautiful home, that they love to share, and the warmest of welcomes. I especially appreciated this at the end of a long journey from the UK, but even more so during the few days I spent there. There were stimulating conversations over delicious breakfast coffee, and in the evening, while having the space and privacy of one’s own home. Easy walk to amenities and to local transport. Can’t wait to go back there for a few days before my return to the UK.

A beautiful home in a great location. A real privilege to share it with two lovely hosts who couldn't be more friendly. Easy to find and just a short walk to downtown where there are lots of great places to eat and drink. A home and town well worth visiting!

My partner and I had a very welcome stay with Paddy and Joanne. The home is very nicely appointed, hosts hospitable, location is central and they even welcomed our Sheltie. Will certainly stay again when possible.

I stayed with Paddy for my first week when moving to Kelowna, and I couldn't have hoped for a more pleasant welcome into my new home town. Paddy and family are wonderful hosts, and very interesting people. They made every effort to make me feel welcome and at home, and I loved our conversations over coffee and meals. Biscuit the dog is very cuddly, and possibly the best-behaved dog I ever met. The house is absolutely lovely, and within walking distance of downtown, the beach, and the Knox Mountain Park hiking area. In short, a great experience.
