There is a hiking trail along water's edge and also kayaks or a canoe for rent to explore the waterways.

The sunroom offers dining with 180° water views. The family room is a great place to relax separate from the main living area. Two of the bedrooms have water views and adjoining baths (one is on the first floor). The deck wraps around the home and leads down to a private dock.

One bedroom offers a queen size bed, there is a full size bed in the second bedroom and the third has two twin beds. For those who desire to stay 'plugged in' we offer Satellite TV and Wireless Internet.

The kitchen is complete with full size refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and coffee pot not to mention all the pots, pans, dishes and utensils you will need. If you enjoy to BBQ there is a gas grill just outside the front door. For lobster lovers we have a large pot available for you to cook them fresh in your cottage.

The Midcoast area of Maine is known for its miles of white sandy beaches and Lobster wharfs where you can enjoy their famous lobster dinners on the dock as you watch the lobstermen bringing in their catch for the day. What makes the midcoast so appealing is the fact that you get to enjoy all this without the crowds. You will love the slower pace of life and the pristine beauty of this untouched area.

Summer Home in Georgetown, ME Ruth was a warm and welcoming host with some great tips and local information upon arrival. She welcomed our four legged friends as well. Our stay at Summer Home was very relaxing for all. The house was cozy and well supplied with linens and kitchen cookware/utensils. There were books galore, some puzzles, and TV with plenty of channels. There were fantastic views of the water, sunrises, sunsets, tidal flows, and natural beauty all around. Georgetown had some fantastic seafood at the Five Islands Lobster Co. - lobster, clams, scallops and more! On the way there we stopped at the Five Islands Farm Stand (seasonal) which had some great local produce and products. Bath is quaint and worth a stroll through town. Now You’re Cooking was lovely for poking around in (corner of Front St. and Lambard St.). The Thai restaurant (Best Thai II) had delicious food and well worth the visit. We also found a wonderful bakery/cafe that I would highly recommend (Mae’s). Included in the rental house was a pass for the state parks which was an added bonus! We checked out Reid State Park, Popham Beach (dogs allowed) and Fort Baldwin. We would have liked to have done some hiking but the mosquitoes were fierce in the woods, so we stuck to towns and beaches/waterfront. Maybe next time. Thank you, Ruth, for your hospitality. We look forward to returning someday!

We had a wonderful time at Ruth's cottage. The location was absoutly perfect. My wife and I brought our 10 month daughter and both sets of our parents for a perfect family vacation!! The house was very comfortable and the dock was the perfect launching pad for our canoe and kayak trips on Back River. We will absoutly stay here again!! Thanks Ruth

Hello! We are happy to share a little about us. Chris and I are currently building our own home, with our 2 children and our pets at our side. We are entrepreneurs and have started a few businesses over the years, mainly Suzie Automatic- a macbook decal design biz on Etsy and Docksmith- driftwood docking stations for smartphones and tablets. We have found that in Maine it is a good thing to be diversified in your endeavors. Including seasonal hobbies- we love to swim, hike, ski and enjoy all Maine has to offer. We both were born and raised here in Maine and have gone away for school and come back. Chris and I together have enjoyed traveling to France, Austria, Sweden and most recently had a wonderful visit to Quebec City. We are looking forward to meeting all the Airbnb-ers!
