Garden and lake views

Soak up the views during your stay.
Upper Beeches is quietly tucked away in the pretty village of Oakhill & a short stroll from the much loved village pub. Comfortable & well equipped for family or friends; perfect for up to 6 people; ideal for 4 adults & 2 children. Pet friendly with walks from the doorstep. You can enjoy a swim in spring-fed ponds by request.

In the heart of the beautiful Somerset countryside yet close to Wells and only half an hour from Bath. Enjoy a warm welcome in a great location for exploring Somerset

The space
Upper Beeches is on the site of the original 18th century Oakhill Brewery complex and has been converted into a three bedroom property with a contemporary interior. Its size and situation makes it perfect for a family holiday offering contemporary comfort in the heart of Somerset.
AI has put that we have ‘lake views’ - we are trying to get this removed. Upper Beeches is on the edge of a village and has garden views. The property is next door to our retreat business - Oakhill Ponds - the large spring-fed ponds are several minutes walk away - and not part of the view for Upper Beeches. However, it is often possible to book an outdoor sauna and spa there or take a walk. Please get in touch to find out when it is open.

The property is arranged over two floors; the first floor is accessed by stairs.
A king-size bedroom with adjacent family bathroom is found on the first floor.
Then along the hallway is the kitchen-diner with open plan lounge. Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen with Smeg coffee machine, an inviting dining area and cosy living room equipped with Smart TV, Netflix and hi-speed Wi-Fi.

There is a further stairway (narrow) from the lounge into the second king-size bedroom with an open stairwell. The third bedroom is reached from this room and has twin beds and an en-suite shower room.

With a flexible layout we often accommodate three generations of family, with grandparents downstairs on the first floor and parents and children using the second floor bedrooms. We provide stair-gates, a travel cot, and high chair for our littlest guests. The space works equally well for a group of friends.

Outside there is a small, sun-drenched garden perfect for alfresco dining and BBQ's for your exclusive use. Parking is for two vehicles but do ask if you need more.

We are experienced hosts and people over the years have stayed with us for a variety of reasons; a visit to Stourhead or Longleat, Wells, Bath, The Newt, Frome, Bruton, Cheddar, Glastonbury. There are also plenty of hiking and outdoor adventures on the doorstep.
But many people come back for what we have to offer here, a beautiful spot with a great local pub and easy access to the best that Somerset offers.

Guest access
Upper Beeches and the small garden and patio with BBQ to the front of the property is for your exclusive use.

For families there is a children's playground and recreation field a short walk away. And if you fancy a bite to eat or a cup of coffee, the village hall boasts a welcoming café serving breakfast and cakes on Saturdays and Wednesdays.

Other things to note
This is a quiet spot on the edge of a village; we kindly ask you to be mindful of our neighbours when enjoying the garden during the summer months.
If you're in the mood for a livelier atmosphere, there's a pub with excellent food and a garden awaits just a 3-minute walk away – perfect for those who enjoy a bit of buzz.

Parking is available for up to two cars for your convenience. But we can accommodate a further car by request

We provide towels and organic toiletries. Additionally, there's a welcome basket including essentials-milk, biscuits, coffee, and teas, all included. Don't hesitate to ask for specific requests – we're here to make your stay exceptional.

Local food deliveries are also available.
