This 2 bedroom riverfront apartment--located on the historic D & H Canal and Delaware river-- can comfortably accommodate a family of 4. Set on over 2 private acres, it is approximately 15 minutes from the Metro North Train, and a 1 minute drive to the town of Barryville, where you can find restaurants, antique shops, grocery stores, and a weekend farmers market. We are also located minutes from Canoe rentals, Zip lining, hiking, The historic (Revolutionary War) Minisink battlefield park, etc..The apartment also features a beautiful deck, 2 fire pits, Smart TV (no cable, but it has Netflix), Bluray/dvd player, kitchen, a 10.2 cf refrigerator (with small freezer), Wifi access, and private phone line. The landscape is dominated by the Delaware River, which is directly accessible for fishing, boating, swimming, or just gazing at the sunset. Bald Eagles are commonly seen from here. On our section of the river, the water moves in a gentle current, and it is approximately 20 feet deep in the middle, which is perfect for swimming, fishing, and boating.
The guests will have access to apartment 1. Guests have access to the entire property, tow path, river (for swimming and fishing), Apple/pear orchard, and Quick Hollow (private road and location).
Interaction with guests
Owner occupies apartment 2, and will be available for assistance, but respects your privacy. (There is no connective access between apartment 1 and 2).
Other things to note
There is a small dog (Harry, the Welsh Terrier) who lives in apartment 2 with owner, but he is never off leash. However, barking might be heard from time to time. There isn't an air conditioner in the apartment, but, in my opinion, it is rather cool at night. We do have window-box-fans available and suggest you use them. (We also have a rolling, portable air conditioner by special request).
