2 bedroom riverfront apartment can comfortably accommodate a family of 4. Set on over 2 private acres, it is approximately 15 minutes from the Metro North Train, a 1 minute drive to the town of Barryville, and it is a 2 hour drive from NYC. Additionally, we are attached to a small apple/pear orchard, and ranger station (park) which we encourage guests to utilize as an additional amenity. There are lots of nearby hiking trails, winter skiing, canoe rentals, fishing and swimming (on our property).

The space

This 2 bedroom riverfront apartment--located on the historic D & H Canal and Delaware river-- can comfortably accommodate a family of 4. Set on over 2 private acres, it is approximately 15 minutes from the Metro North Train, and a 1 minute drive to the town of Barryville, where you can find restaurants, antique shops, grocery stores, and a weekend farmers market. We are also located minutes from Canoe rentals, Zip lining, hiking, The historic (Revolutionary War) Minisink battlefield park, etc..The apartment also features a beautiful deck, 2 fire pits, Smart TV (no cable, but it has Netflix), Bluray/dvd player, kitchen, a 10.2 cf refrigerator (with small freezer), Wifi access, and private phone line. The landscape is dominated by the Delaware River, which is directly accessible for fishing, boating, swimming, or just gazing at the sunset. Bald Eagles are commonly seen from here. On our section of the river, the water moves in a gentle current, and it is approximately 20 feet deep in the middle, which is perfect for swimming, fishing, and boating.

Guest access

The guests will have access to apartment 1. Guests have access to the entire property, tow path, river (for swimming and fishing), Apple/pear orchard, and Quick Hollow (private road and location).

Interaction with guests

Owner occupies apartment 2, and will be available for assistance, but respects your privacy. (There is no connective access between apartment 1 and 2).

Other things to note

There is a small dog (Harry, the Welsh Terrier) who lives in apartment 2 with owner, but he is never off leash. However, barking might be heard from time to time. There isn't an air conditioner in the apartment, but, in my opinion, it is rather cool at night. We do have window-box-fans available and suggest you use them. (We also have a rolling, portable air conditioner by special request).

It was pretty bigger than we expected. Mike welcomed us and we felt comfortable. We rode canoe, had BBQ, and enjoyed several boards & Video games. Was fun. It is very peaceful area right next to the water. Loved there so much!!

Amazing experience with Mike and Veronica, and their cozy home. The place is so much more than what it's shown in the pictures. And we did everything we planned - canoe with our dog, hiking, bbq, tiki, firepit, s'more and so much more (luckily they have a private canoe so we can bring our dog onto the river). It was such a wonderful weekend. We definitely will recommend this place to everyone.

Amazing spot on the Delaware river with details that make memories: inside you'll find very cool games (digital and analog), Books, books books for all tastes, paintings to gaze at and cute details. Outside you'll find a great spot to fish ( wish I brought poles), a cute little path with surprising playful details that leads to a fire pit on the river that can't be topped. The property is bigger than it looks online. Next year we'll plan on on an air mattress as the bed was kind of tight for two. We were a family of four. Happy trails!

Don't hesitate to book ! The retro Nintendo games sold me first before I saw the scenic backyard and was in awe. Mike conveniently had a canoe for 2 that he let us use during our stay and an incredible fire pit right down on the water, with the most INCREDIBLE view. Will be back soon !

Mike's place is a relaxing getaway. Mike has literally carved out paths and a beautiful clearing on the river where you can relax and take in the view. We enjoyed using the canoe, the grill, and the fire pit. We rarely left the property during our 2 night stay. The kitchen was fully equipped with a few extra essentials that were a pleasant surprise. Mike and Veronica were very accommodating hosts and went the extra mile for us! We enjoyed all the games as well!

Great family and pet friendly oasis on the side of the Delaware. Good for swimming, rafting/canoeing, experienced fishing and getting away from the city. Just bring cloths cause everything is available here from soap and washcloths to video games and vintage books you have it all. The hosts are great, attentive and than some. Will definitely come back so keep the place clean and tidy ;)
