The main wooden door to the house, inside the courtyard, designed by my mother, Sophia. Dining space, living room and fireplace. In the summer, when the sun's really high and hot, it's best to keep the house in the shade!

Description

The space

Villa Lena is intended and decorated for living, enjoying and pleasure, contrary to the design and equipment of hotels or hotel-like spaces. Our personal touch, aimed at creating a space where we relax, unwind, smile and be tranquil, is evident through our decorative choices, with small paintings on canvas and coloured rocks created by my mother, Sophia, books, flowers and nice music.

Our house is located in the beautiful cretan village of Sivas. Built within this small agricultural settlement, it offers visitors the opportunity not only to enjoy their holidays but also to experience many diverse aspects of local daily life.
Surrounded by olive groves, domestic animals, and friendly hills that change colour in the sunset, it is an excellent option for getting to know the area's rural life and acquire a good feeling of a mediterranean landscape.
At the same time, it is placed in a highly valued tourist zone, just 10 minutes by car from the famous beaches of Matala and Kommos, as well as from very important archaeological heritage sites, such as Faestos and Gortyna. Its close distance to the mountainranges of Psiloreitis to the north and Asterousia to the south provides easy access to trekking routes, mountain bike trails and road trips towards the magnificent Libyan sea.

Guest access

Yard, garden and little backyard, the entire main house (2 bedrooms, living room, dining space, kitchen, bathroom).
My mother, Mrs. Sophia, is occassionally there and resides in the property's basement, which has separate entrance to the main house and its own amenities. Her presence is very discreet and she is respectful towards the guests. She is always happy to help you with anything you might need and give you a local's tips for your holiday.

Interaction with guests

You can ask my mother, Mrs Sophia, anything you need! She will make sure that you enjoy your holiday the most and facilitate your stay.
If you visit our property during a period that Mrs Sophia is not there, no need to worry! We will provide you with a contact number of a dear friend that resides in the village and will be happy to help you.

The neighbourhood

Our neighbourhood is at the tip of village Sivas. As it is a small village, it doesn' take more than 6 minutes on foot to get to its centre where you can find the basic amenities, such as supermarket, green grocers, tavernas, local shops, etc.
The area surrounding our house has a few small private houses, scattered olive trees and an olive grove, various cute household animals, mainly chickens, goats, dogs and cats, lovely views to Psiloritis and Asterousia mountains, and a lot of fresh air!

Getting around

You can park your car right outside our house. It is not a 'proper' parking space, as it is a rural village, but there is enough space for a car to be parked.
