This lovely garden studio is in an idyllic Georgian village 10 mins from Bath and near to great places to eat and visit but in the middle of the countryside. It is seperate from the house and quiet with stunning views.

The studio is characterful and sits in a delightful garden. The small Bathroom and Kitchen are both accessed by an outside glass covered patio which gives you the feeling of being close to the beauty of nature . It is also a lovely place to sit and watch nature rain or shine!

The space

We are happy to welcome people to our garden studio. It is south facing, characterful and full of light and has a glass covered patio which is the access to the bathroom and kitchen. They are both compact but functional and have all the basics.

The bathroom has a shower, toilet and small handbasin.

The studio has a double bed fitted with white egyptian cotton sheets, a wardrobe, table and two chairs.
There is a TV and CD player available but they can be hidden behind sliding doors of the wardrobe for those who want to escape the world!

We supply a basic breakfast of cereal options to get you started! We also supply milk and coffee and a variety of teas.

The garden studio is set in an idyllic garden. The room and facilities are compact but very comfortable and well-appointed. Bryan and Lynda are very kind and thoughtful hosts. The location is peaceful but convenient with the village shop a short walk away.

This is such a lovely place to stay if your after a quiet village experience. The highlight was the garden for me - Lynda and Bryan do such a fabulous job of taking care of the garden, it's truly vibrant and relaxing. Bryan and Lynda were nice enough to wait for us until we arrived and found us when we got lost on our way - shows how thoughtful they were. Upon arrival, they welcomed us and showed us around the place with some brownies and fresh fruit for our first night. One tip I'd offer future travellers is, if you're driving, it's wisest to park your car on top of rosemary lane as the roads are quite narrow and a big car would struggle. Please book this great place if you would like a peaceful getaway!

Had a wonderful weekend break hidden away in this peaceful gem. The retreat is exactly as described and shown. I read many comments about the comfy bed and I certainly support those statements! I did not want to get out and would have happily spent a day cocooned in bed looking at the view. We were lucky enough to go during June with beautiful weather so could enjoy the garden setting to the fullest. Popping out to the bathroom in the early morning being met with the view was amazing, found myself sitting out there both nights. So easy to get to Bath from here, we used the train (10 minute journey) which our hosts directed us to, and on the second day we drove in. There was loads of parking available and it was only a 15 minute drive. Bryan and Lynda were wonderful hosts. They phoned to make sure we hadn't got lost when we were delayed in traffic which was great, and there to meet us at their beautiful house. Lynda popped by each morning to say hello and check if there was anything we needed and give us suggestions/recommendations when we asked. Both so friendly and felt very welcomed. The fruit and brownies were much appreciated! Especially liked the tea and cereal selection for breakfast. We wished we had stayed longer so we could have explored the beautiful village more, go on the recommended walks and spend more time in the retreat! Everyone we met in the village were friendly, and would definitely recommend the Inn at Freshford for dinner and a pint! So thank you again to our wonderful hosts and look forward to coming back!

What a wonderful little find! A three-day retreat for my mother and myself; we've come away feeling relaxed and so pleased we stayed at Bryan and Lynda's gorgeous place. The garden is absolutely stunning, especially when we could enjoy it (and the fabulous weather) from the little seated area- in the morning for breakfast and into the evening with a glass of wine. Fresh fruit for our breakfast toppers, and a sneaky treat of delicious brownies on arrival. Friendly, generous and kind hosts with a good sense of humour and mountains of local knowledge, with the added bonus of a gorgeous little dog Dylan! Train station was within a short walking distance and so close to Bath and Bradford-on-Avon. We did try to eat at the Freshford Inn but were unfortunately closed- worth checking before you head down! Luckily the Cross Guns (we highly recommend) was a short walk away across a very scenic route, and we got the train back afterwards. Couldn't recommend this place and their wonderful hosts any more. Thank you, we couldn't have asked for any more.

The most beautiful and peaceful garden retreat! We were in much need of a relaxing break, and Bryan and Lynda's garden studio couldn't have been more perfect. After a warm welcome, we were given tips for the local area and even had fruit and brownies waiting for us! The studio has everything you need including a very clever, compact kitchen - we really enjoyed our alfresco dinners and breakfasts! Everything was so clean and tidy, bed was very comfortable (we didn't want to leave it!), and the surrounding area was stunning - we couldn't have asked for anything more! Would also highly recommend the Inn at Freshford and the No.10 Tea Gardens in Avoncliff - both are great pit stops on the walk to Bradford on Avon from the studio. Waking up to birdsong and getting to admire your garden every morning over breakfast was bliss. We are both going back home feeling very refreshed and inspired! Thank you both - we will definitely be visiting again. Bethany and Nicola Plummer

My boyfriend and I booked a weekend at Bryan and Lynda's Garden Retreat and we were not disappointed. Their cottage was situated in a lovely, idyllic village. Communication was faultless prior to arrival and upon arrival. Parking wasn't an issue which was very helpful. They were both very welcoming and even had a plate of fresh fruit, brownies, milk and a very well equipped kitchen waiting for us. Everything was just as shown in the pictures. The outdoor tables and seats were lovely to sit at in the morning to admire the sun and colourful garden, as well as at night. We both slept well; good bed and all windows had blinds to keep the room dark. Bryan and Lynda recommended us places to visit and ensured we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Dylan the dog and their pet tortoise were adorable and definitely added to our great stay :)! There's a local pub within walking distance which serves great local brews and delicious food. The train station was about a 10 minute walk away which then took us straight into Bath (approx 15 minute journey). I'd highly recommend this studio as it's in a great location to explore Freshford, neighbouring villages and Bath whilst also being a peaceful retreat. Thank you Bryan and Lynda for your having us and we'll definitely be back; a weekend was not long enough! xx

My wife Lynda and I love to travel, in fact we met in India. We live in a beautiful part of England and love the village we live in.
Our cottage is our retreat and we are passionate about our garden and love to share our space with people who enjoy peace and quiet. This is also what we look for when we travel and also views of water.
We love to explore new places and meet new people.
