Hi Wendy, Thank you for the review and for staying with us. We have had hundreds of guests and unfortunately, learned the hard way, that some people are not very respectful when in other folks' homes, so we decided to clarify some parameters and behaviors so that everyone is on the same page, hence the notes. When guests are respectful, then all is well. When they are not, we want to be clear about the fees that may be applied. Regarding checking out, we communicate in several emails that if a guest would like early check in or late check out, they just need to ask and we will do our best to make that happen. The fees happen when guests don't leave on time, don't ask for late check out and our cleaners sit in the car waiting (sometimes up to 2 hours). Guess who gets to pay the cleaners for this? Regarding water usage, yes, our company 's values mirrors the owner's, which is to conserve resources. California was in a 7 year drought, which only very recently ended. We would like to use resources as needed, but continue to be mindful. Isn't that the responsible thing to do? Anyway, we apologize if the communication bothered you. That is never our intent.
