Takashi's home in Iyo-shi served as an amazing retreat from our travels in Tokyo and was the perfect starting point for exploring Matsuyama and riding the Shimanami Kaido. Takashi and his wife are excellent hosts and staying in their modernized 100 year old home was an wonderful experience.. we can't wait to go back!

A superb experience. Takashi is a great host and the home is elegant and old-school Japanese. Takashi's wife was extremely kind and fun to talk to, and made a fantastic dinner for us! Chobi, the Shiba dog is super well-behaved and was another fun part of a great stay! This space is located within literally 3 or 4 minutes of two train stations, and maybe 5 minutes from a third, so it is extremely easy to get around in terms of linking to Matsuyama or other lovely spots in Ehime prefecture. The town, Iyo, is quite compact and it is easy to walk around the shopping streets for local products or go to the supermarkets and convenience stores. Very highly recommended.

It has been a pleasant stay in Takashi's house. Everything renovated new of well equipped facilities, kitchen, toilet, bath room, wifi- accessible every corners while it is in a very traditional Japanese style already a 100 years. Takeshita San is so nice, we were very late to check in while he is waiting because of car broken down. Choby, his dog very adorable, no baking and my kids love her very much. Don't miss a chance if you will visit Matsuyama. You will not regret for the stay, but be reminded to spare more days to to avoid too hurry to walk around the city.

Takashi gave us a very warm welcome when we arrived a little before 9:00pm. He explained that the house was old but I found it to be charming. The space is a double tatami room with futon you lay on the ground. Shared areas were immaculate. It's quiet at night and you can get a good bit of nature sounds as you fall asleep. Takashi's wife was just as eager as he was to make our stay a pleasant one. Their dog was friendly and didn't bark at all. For the most part they let us settle in and use part of their home without disturbance. I wish we'd had more time to chat with them because they were a sweet couple. When we left we took a picture together, received some parting gifts and they wished us well on our trip.
