Tucked away behind trees and bushes, an urban cabin awaits your arrival! This urban cabin was built in 1918 and it was the first residence built in the Ravenna-Bryant neighborhood of Seattle, WA. This wonderful abode has been my home for eight years and I have loved every single moment! It's not a modern accommodation by any stretch, but it's my home and I love it.

The space

Yes, I chose to put the word rustic in the title. I chose that word because it is code on sites like this for old, dilapidated, and unsightly. My little cabin may not double as a modern hotel suite or be featured on Pintrest, but it has served me well and has seen much laughter, love, and care. If you are the type of guest who needs the comforts of a Hilton or a Westin, I implore you to look elsewhere. If you are looking for an affordable stay in a space that provides warmth, some key amenities, and peacefulness, please, read on!

Outside, there is a large front yard, fenced in by bushes and giant Pacific Northwest trees. A patio area that is ripe for barbecues and drinks in the Seattle summer sun. Next door is the nicest, most wonderful neighbor in the long history of wonderful neighbors, who will offer you kiwis straight off the vine!

The rustic interior is welcoming, you'll have everything you need for your Emerald City getaway. A living room with a 55 inch high def television, Xbox One, and Apple TV. There is a desk with a view of the front yard and a chair fit for Captain Kirk. The house also comes wi-fi ready...because it's 2017.

There is a full, spacious kitchen that loves to be cooked in! There is plenty of cupboard space (and I welcome you to raid my cupboard and use whatever you need). Also in the kitchen: a large refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, and a breakfast nook, where you can take in the weather of the day through huge picture windows.

The bathroom is equipped with a claw foot tub/shower. My nine year-old takes baths that last upwards to an hour because for as old as my cabin is, the hot water lasts forever! For your convenience, there is a washer and dryer free-of-charge. This helps cut down on time at a laundromat and affords you more time to spend on whatever you like spending time on.

BAD NEWS: The bathroom sink is in rough shape. This is one of those reasons why I'm not charging an arm and a leg to stay here. Slight inconvenience that I have more than learned to live with.

There is one and a half bedrooms in the cabin. The larger bedroom is off the living room and I often tell people that I have a "BED"room. I say this because there is an absurdly comfortable king size bed and it takes most of the space in the bedroom.

The half bedroom off the kitchen is perfect for a small child (this is where my nine year-old sleeps.) There is not much space here, but enough if you are looking for a simple sleeping space.

I hope your stay will bring as much happiness and sanctuary as it has for me! Thanks so much and have a blessed day!

The description is accurate. I had no issues whatsoever with any items described. Nathan was very forward and helpful with both the check in and out. Comfy bed :D . This is a great deal for anyone wanting a home away from home.

The place was fantastic. It had a lot of "character" and had absolutely everything we needed, including a washer/dryer - it felt like home. Perfect location too - close to downtown, and there were ReachNow and Car2Go's everywhere in the neighborhood so we didn't even need to rent a car. Area was safe and neighbors were friendly. Nice cafes nearby within walking distance. The place was cozy and quiet and was one of our best AirBnB stays ever. I hope the place is available again next time we visit Seattle!

Nathan's place is cozy and has everything you need for a short or long stay. After just a day it felt like "home." If you are looking for a pristine, updated place, this is not for you. But if you want a funky, rustic, eclectic and charming place that is - as Nathan called it - "rough around the edges" - and in a FANTASTIC Seattle neighborhood, this place is for you. Like Seattle, this house is quirky. And we were totally cool with that! Nathan was very welcoming and had a friend check in on us. The home is in the quiet and beautiful neighborhood of Ravenna in NE Seattle. You can walk to many coffee shops, restaurants, etc. there are several buses you can take to get almost anywhere in the city and you can easily get to the light rail station on a short bus ride. I'd definitely stay here again.

I loved staying at Nathan's place - the neighborhood (Ravenna/Bryant) is quiet and lovely, his small home is cozy and wonderful. I stayed in both July and August, and was sad to leave! Nathan was super accommodating and was kind enough to give me lots of information about the neighborhood stores and shops that I might need. Also, you are close to buses that go downtown, U district and other places. You are a short 10-15 min walk to the U Village Mall - try Elemental, they have wood-fired pizza that's really yummy. Or, you could walk to Vios with yummy food and beer. Thank you again Nathan!
