Tucked away behind trees and bushes, an urban cabin awaits your arrival! This urban cabin was built in 1918 and it was the first residence built in the Ravenna-Bryant neighborhood of Seattle, WA. This wonderful abode has been my home for eight years and I have loved every single moment! It's not a modern accommodation by any stretch, but it's my home and I love it.
Yes, I chose to put the word rustic in the title. I chose that word because it is code on sites like this for old, dilapidated, and unsightly. My little cabin may not double as a modern hotel suite or be featured on Pintrest, but it has served me well and has seen much laughter, love, and care. If you are the type of guest who needs the comforts of a Hilton or a Westin, I implore you to look elsewhere. If you are looking for an affordable stay in a space that provides warmth, some key amenities, and peacefulness, please, read on!
Outside, there is a large front yard, fenced in by bushes and giant Pacific Northwest trees. A patio area that is ripe for barbecues and drinks in the Seattle summer sun. Next door is the nicest, most wonderful neighbor in the long history of wonderful neighbors, who will offer you kiwis straight off the vine!
The rustic interior is welcoming, you'll have everything you need for your Emerald City getaway. A living room with a 55 inch high def television, Xbox One, and Apple TV. There is a desk with a view of the front yard and a chair fit for Captain Kirk. The house also comes wi-fi ready...because it's 2017.
There is a full, spacious kitchen that loves to be cooked in! There is plenty of cupboard space (and I welcome you to raid my cupboard and use whatever you need). Also in the kitchen: a large refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, and a breakfast nook, where you can take in the weather of the day through huge picture windows.
The bathroom is equipped with a claw foot tub/shower. My nine year-old takes baths that last upwards to an hour because for as old as my cabin is, the hot water lasts forever! For your convenience, there is a washer and dryer free-of-charge. This helps cut down on time at a laundromat and affords you more time to spend on whatever you like spending time on.
BAD NEWS: The bathroom sink is in rough shape. This is one of those reasons why I'm not charging an arm and a leg to stay here. Slight inconvenience that I have more than learned to live with.
There is one and a half bedrooms in the cabin. The larger bedroom is off the living room and I often tell people that I have a "BED"room. I say this because there is an absurdly comfortable king size bed and it takes most of the space in the bedroom.
The half bedroom off the kitchen is perfect for a small child (this is where my nine year-old sleeps.) There is not much space here, but enough if you are looking for a simple sleeping space.
I hope your stay will bring as much happiness and sanctuary as it has for me! Thanks so much and have a blessed day!
It's all yours.
Interaction with guests
I will be out of town, however, my dear friends will be at your service.
