About this listing
Location. Location. Location! Downtown Toronto. Restaurants, Retail Shops, Juice Bars, Patios, Bakeries, Craft Beer, Live Music and More...!
24/7 Streetcar. Taxi cabs. Uber. 6 minutes to Subway. 2 Minutes to Chinatown an Queen Street. 5 Minutes to UofT, 7 Minutes to Entertainment District and Clubland. 15 Minutes to Gay Village.
Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with tons of wonderful natural light an apartment across the street from a leafy walkway between funky Queen street and bustling Chinatown.
We ask that you please read this detailed description. We strive to make our listing as *Accurate* as possible.
We use AirBnB as travelers around the world as well.
We know how important detail is, as well as no hidden surprises.
Natural light streams through this rectangle shaped apartment from morning until night. We rarely turn the lights on until 9PM during Summer.
We classify the Guest Bedroom as "Cozy". It's not Tiny. It's not Large.
Guests get to enjoy a cozy and very quiet Bedroom and get a great night's Sleep. Plus your own *Private* Guest Bathroom is adjacent to your bedroom.
You have a full, brightly lit closet. You have shelves and drawers for staying longer. And a full "Junior" Wooden (not Ikea) Desk in your room.
There is a Full Basket of Toiletries for both Men and Women on the Top shelf of the Closet. There are also TWO Robes. Please ask for Slippers if you need.
There is also an Umbrella, ella, ella ;-) Please ask for a Rain Jacket if Needed.
Fruit and light Munchies are on the Kitchen island, as well as Filtered Water for our Guests to enjoy.
There is a "Common Room" near the Kitchen Island with *tons* of natural light to sit, listen to your podcasts or music, read, surf the Internet on the Guest iPad or Watch TV.
Please ask how the Apple or Internet TV Works. We'll happily show you.
In the Common Room there is one leather Italian chair that reclines.
We suggest if you're not a Cat Lover to sit there and put your feet up.
Our sofa and club chairs are vintage cloth upholstery. There will inevitably be cat hair on them as the little furry rescue dudes do love to lounge around.
We clean and Swiffer twice a day, but we both also have jobs and cannot clean every strand off the furniture every moment of the day.
Our cats are not Sphynx Cats. So please do not mark us down by saying "cat hair everywhere" because you sat on the sofa or in a club chair and that hair fell to the floor or got on your clothing.
The Guest Bedroom is GREAT for Sleeping. Resting. Studying. Reading.
There is a corner Chair + Ottoman in your room.
The Guest Bedroom has a small-ish, 3rd floor high window which faces the brick on the building next to it. No view to the street, so lighting is blocked. It's quiet throughout the night and the morning light will not wake you.
Please Ask Us to adjust the Blinds and/or open the window to your liking.
There are 3 lights in the Guest Bedroom (2 Soft Lamps + Ceiling Light) + 1 light in the closet. If you're seeking natural light in the bedroom, it receives very little, especially in the winter months. And not near as much light as the East/West windows throughout the rest of the layout.
Guests are welcome to use the Common Room with or without us being in the house. Our private quarters are marked by a bamboo screen in the hallway, so we appreciate if Guests do not wander past the screen.
Guests are NOT welcome to use the Kitchen unless we are present in the home. We ask that you do NOT rummage through our cupboards. Instead please ASK for what you need.
Why no kitchen privileges you ask? Because Guests have burnt pots, caught teatowels on fire, set off fire alarms, broken dishes. Its just much more pleasant a stay if none of this happens.
Guests are NOT welcome to use the Washer, Dryer or Iron unless we are present in the home.
Why no unsupervised use of washer or dryer you ask? Because a physicist who knew everything, broke our washer and cost us $1200 to buy a new one. Its just much more pleasant a stay if none of this happens.
Interaction with guests
We always play this by ear. We leave it to our Guests to let us know how much they want to interact with Us.
(URL HIDDEN)As travelers ourselves, we don't want our Hosts in our face, nor going into our room and/or belongings. We want our privacy respected.
If you do want to socialize - We have varied interests from Pop Culture to Politics and everything in between such as Film, Food, Music, Travel, Science, Medicine, Nerd and Geek Culture, Countries and Their Cultures and World Affairs to name a few topics.
The cats have a few things to say too ;-)
What isn't in this neighborhood? Art Galleries, Museums, Restaurants, Bars, Nightclubs, Live Music Venues, Bakeries, BubbleTea, Seafood, BBQ, Thai, Ramen, Chinese, Pho, Bavarian, German, Indian, Canadiana and more :-)
24/7 Public Transit in all directions. Taxi Cabs, Uber in full effect. But really, Toronto is a walking city with tons to explore with cool nooks and crannies.
