Our house is a family home. We rent out 3 rooms and live in the other two. The is close to the sea wall, Vedado, Old Havana, and the most colorful part of Central Havana, Calljon Hamel, Casa de la Musica, good public transport, the city center.. You'll love our place because of our family and the location.. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers and groups. (Graham manages the Airbnb listing but Dr. Alexi rents it out, check out the pictures to see him and the fam).

The space

This is a colonial building, very spacious in its common rooms and easy street access. Every room we rent has A/C and hot and cold running water.

Guest access

You have access to the living room, dinning room, and kitchen.

Interaction with guests

We always have someone in the house to help you with your needs and give directions on how to navigate Cuba, be it socially or geographically.

Other things to note

We have a home phone you can use as well as a car that we use as a Taxi that is very reasonably priced compared to other taxis.

It's just what you need a nice clean bed, shower, and A/C. Jenny was so sweet and made us a huge breakfast every morning. It's also easy to get in and out of the place. There's not one moment where I didn't feel safe and I definitely would recommend this place to a friend. Thank you!

You can walk to the city centre. Casa Particular is very clean, breakfast is delicious (worth the 5 peso) and the people are very friendly. Would come back!

Good location. Easy check-in. Great hosts. Dr. Alexis went out of his way to lend us a few Cuban pesos before we got a chance to exchange the money. The hostess made early breakfast to accommodate to our bus schedule. They also allowed us to leave our luggage in the casa for a couple of days while we travelled to Viñales.

This place is amazing! Great location, the people/family is great, such a safe and comfortable area, I can't explain how much I enjoyed staying here! I plan on staying here again next time I visit! And it's close to everything, this family is the nicest.

The first day we arrived, the host said the room wasn't available and we would have to stay across the street at his cousin's who asked us to show her our passports to take down our information. This isn't something we were expecting. The host also entered our room to clean it while we were gone for the day without telling us in advance. While it was a nice gesture, we were under the impression no one would enter the room while we were away since we were given keys. The home next door sells coffee, egg (tortilla) sandwich, juice, etc from their windowsill at low prices. Also note, they don't pick-up/drop-off from airport for less than regular taxis - they charge the same price. That bit of information should be removed from the description.

Overall we had a great experience. We did not end up staying with Dr. Alexis and his wife. We arrived and we were brought to a house two doors down. It was pretty confusing at first, but turned out to be just fine. Breakfast was excellent, we paid $5 per person per day. Dinner was not offered. The host spoke almost no English and unfortunately my friend and I speak basically no Spanish. The host was very patient and friendly so the language barrier was not a huge deal. Overall we really enjoyed the experience.

The casa was nice and the room was well kept and spacious with a private bathroom attached. We didn't have too much interaction with Dr. Alexis and his wife but checking in and out was easy and they were friendly.

I am a United States citizen living in Havana since March 2010. I have many friends that rent out vacation properties ("casa particulares") so I decided to help list them on Airbnb. Nice to meet you!
