We stayed at Mark's place for three nights. The location on the water was wonderful and the view of the lake is beautiful. The pictures and description of the property are very accurate. The cottage is well equipped with anything you might need for daily living. We spent alot of time on the water and the access to the different lakes on the chain never grew old. We enjoyed the privacy of the cottage yet it was close to town for going out to eat or picking up anything we needed. Mark was welcoming upon arrival but we didn't need to contact him for the rest of our stay. We would definitely book this property with Mark again.

My husband and I, our 15 year old son and his friend stayed at the cabin for three nights in early July. It was fun -- it’s a northwoods cabin with a lot of character. It’s not luxury (no A/C), but it’s comfortable. The view is fantastic, from the front deck, and from any of the many windows in the cabin. We saw a loon fishing out front, and a mom duck and her babies feeding at the shoreline. A deer was wandering around out back one morning, and at a different time, out in front of the cabin, we watched another deer SWIM from one shore to another! And of course, the eagles put on a great show. Our son and his friend enjoyed fishing off the pier (they saw a “huge” turtle in the lake) and from the rowboat Mark supplied. A couple things to know: the lake in front of the cabin is fairly thick with seaweed. If you want to swim, follow the signs on Chain of Lakes Road to Eagle Lake Park, where there are a couple of small, sandy beaches and seaweed-free areas in which to swim. As evening approaches, close the kitchen window and the front door, so the flying bugs don't invade the cabin! The cabin is fully stocked with cooking supplies, dishes and utensils, making meal prep easy. We brought our own sheets and towels, but there were also containers labeled “sheets”, and some towels in the bathroom drawers, so if you don’t bring your own I think you’d be okay. Mark stays in a house directly behind the cabin, so if you’re looking for complete privacy you might want to find another place. It wasn’t a problem whatsoever for us. The cabin is next to Wild Eagle Lodge, and The Blue Heron restaurant. We had a nice meal there (make reservations if you don’t want to wait). It was a little pricey, but worth it. Overall, our stay at the cabin was exactly as we’d hoped and expected, and a very good value, too. The next time we stay in the area we’ll try to book there again.
