This property is located on an island that is set back in time pleasantly. Island living where everybody speaks to you when they drive or walk pass. You can keep your doors open you don't have to worry about safety...you can go roaming at 6 in the morning to see the sunrise or out at 12 at night star glazing without any concerns for security. I'm from Chicago and that was a pleasant component of this visit. The home is just as presented in the pictures and description. Quality Furniture, quality bedding towels everything that you would need. You will see wildlife like deer, hummingbird, and flowers everywhere. The beach is a short walk away. In addition The Host is willing to go over and Beyond to make your stay beautiful she's a warm-hearted loving woman. she also gives you your space for autonomy to do whatever you want to do. She takes pride in what she's doing and into the service that she's providing. I would recommend this property to anyone interested in relaxing in a country like atmosphere where by the end of your stay everyone will know your name.

Christa and her family go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and have every thing you need and if you find you do not have mustard ( which there was plenty) she'll give you hers! The place is immaculate, and very interesting. With antique furniture from Germany to japanese wall hangings. The beach was across the street and the kids had a ball! The islanders were sp friendly, even invited us to Thursday night square dancing! We had a great time doing that too! You will fond staying at Christa's will be an enjoyable vacation you and your loved ones will not soon forget. We hope to go back in a couple of years.

We spent two nights in this amazing house on Bois Blanc Island. The experience is the both unique and wonderful. The hostess is the most welcoming and kind person who offered us lots of convenience and help, she tried best to let us feel living at our own home and finding anything we need. The house was amazing, not only beautiful on the outside but also surprised us with its elegant decoration. A private beach with clear water and beautiful lake scene is lying just front of the house. In general, amazing house amazing trip and amazing people we met here, surely will come back again someday! Highly recommend to all the visitors!

Christa and Shelby were great hosts! Even before we arrived, she was very helpful in the planning of our stay and what to expect. Her home was perfect for 5 of us staying for 4 days. Each room has lots of character, comfort, cleanliness, and charm. The waterfront area has a couple of benches or chairs with a nice fire pit to relax around. A separate, enclosed patio area with amenities has a nice eating area with a fireplace. We spent an afternoon in this area playing games during a rainy day and occasionally watched the deer in the backyard. We met a few locals along the way that were very friendly and helpful with our plans of exploring the area. We dedicated one of our vacation days to stay on the island and had a terrific time being lazy around the house. We also drove around the island and spent time swimming at "the point (I believe it's called)." It's maybe a mile west from the store. Great place to jump off the dock and/or the island dock about 100ft out. Beautiful water to swim in!!! I strongly suggest spending more than one day to relax on the island. Overall, we had a fantastic time and definitely recommend this place to others. We hope to return for more great memories. In fact, we're thinking about turning this car around en route to Chicago!!! But we'll just be patient. Thanks you very much!

As hosts Shelby and I share a love of meeting and interacting with people and making everyone comfortable. If you need peace and quiet you find it here. If you want to learn about our island we have stories to tell. Shelby has traveled the world and I have seen the world thru the eyes of a film editor.
I enjoy teaching knitting during knitting retreats and love sharing my collection of knitted treasures and patterns. Love music, movies from all over the world – subtitles if need be – travel, mostly by car, but also solitude and peace. Languages: German and English.
