One of four rented apartments that make up Scoor House, Laggan is a ground floor apartment with outstanding views of the surrounding area - offering sleeping for up to five.

The space

A couple of things to note: Scoor House is accessable via a two mile, bumpy farm track - it is suitable for normal cars but can, depending on how much rain we have had, be more difficult at times. Although we have Wifi, due to the distance from the exchange, it is very slow and only really useful for picking up emails etc; due to the remoteness of the location things like late night shopping are definitely out of the question so please make sure you arrive with all you need for the first night: we supply bedding but not towels. Due to the logistics of getting to our property (roughly 5 - 6 hours from central Scotland) we have found that guests only staying for two nights usually leave frustrated that they didn't stay at least one extra night because there was so much they didn't get to see. The Isle of Mull is over 70 miles long and the two main attractions, Iona and Tobermory, are at opposite ends of the island - this leaves very little time to fully explore the island with only a two night stay. We therefore recommend three nights minimum.

Amazing location, in the middle of the fields, next to 2 gorgeous beaches. Amazing view with tables outside to enjoy eating outside with the sunset!

Scoor was fantastic, we had the most beautiful scenes right outside our windows. It's 30 minutes from Iona, and we had an amazing beach all to ourselves (well, save for the cows and sheep :)). Fantastic place and we highly recommend it.

Although we arrived a bit early, Scott was around to show us our accommodation and tell us about the beaches to which we could walk, and answer any other of our questions. Sighting of eagles, plenty of red deer and amazing scenery made this remote location an ideal spot for our family to experience the rawness and beauty of the Isle of Mull. Scott's directions to get to Scoor House were really accurate; and his advice in the listing about staying at least 3 days definitely needed to be heeded. The location was only about 10 miles from the ferry to Iona which allowed us plenty of time to spend a day on the island to visit the abbey and ruins. Another day was needed for a very scenic drive to Tobermory and a day just chilling out in the surrounding countryside made us realize how much longer we could have stayed. Our flat was just as pictured, very comfortable and well equipped with a wonderful view out of the sitting room window. We would have appreciated towels to be provided, but overall it was a very memorable and enjoyable stay.

Scott was great and answered many of our questions about Mull before we even arrived; it was consequently down to his advice that our trip was so enjoyable and successful. He also was flexible with the check-in time for us because we wanted to see Duart castle on the way to the property, so we were able to check-in later on. He was very helpful and friendly upon our arrival and throughout our stay. The 3 mile road up to the property is very bumpy and has lots of potholes on it but honestly we didn't find it a problem in our little Corsa. As long as you don't race your Lamborghini along the track I am sure you will be fine! The surrounding area is stunningly beautiful and feels remote (even though it's just a few miles drive to Bunessan where there are a few shops); and it was very peaceful. We were glad we stayed here rather than in Tobermory because it enabled us to escape the tourists. We enjoyed taking walks and the private beach that is a 15 min walk from the property was breathtaking. Ultimately the stay in this location was a one in a lifetime experience for my boyfriend and I, as we live in big densely populated cities (my boyfriend in Seattle, and me in London). Hope to come back one day!

Scott was very welcoming and the property is as described but the journey to the property is a little bumpy as the road towards the property (after the tarmac but) is uneven. Just be aware that the property is at the end of the road, where about half of the road is Tarmac and the other half isn't - and going into 'authorised entry only' part.
