About this listing

You’ll love these two rooms for their size, ambiance, and historic flavor. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). There is a double bed and two couches (one in the bedroom, one in the study room) - accommodating up to 4 people. The house is historic and is over 100 years old. It was built by the architect Hans Gehrke for Robert C. Traub, the jeweler, in 1914 and was featured in the "House Beautiful" magazine same year.

The neighbourhood

Historic grandeur. Widest boulevard. 25 minutes from the airport. One block east of Woodwartd Avenue, main street of the city. 10 minutes to downtown. 10 minutes to near suburbs like Royal Oak. Two-three blocks away - regular Detroit homes, not so great, not so spectacular.

Getting around

Car is all you need. Light rail is under construction and will be available soon. Uber is very popular as well as Lyft (get the apps!)

Other things to note

Parking is in front of the house or in my garage.

I love my family, ballet, art, good cinema, books, good food and living creatures of all kind. I like to have a meaningful conversation or just listen to your stories. My life's motto: "Give more than you can, take less than you need". History is very important to me - architecture, music, art, theatre, people - I see and appreciate history everywhere. When I travel, I travel light. I like to be a hostess for my friends or events.
