Very nice cabin, with a great kitchen for cooking and socializing. We had a wonderful vacation, and would come back to this cabin in a heartbeat! The wildlife viewing was great, and the seclusion was just what we wanted...

We had a wonderful week's stay at the cabin with our two young children (7 and 5). The cabin is beautifully situated 1.5 miles down a dirt road in the Black Hills National Forest, 10 minutes from the town of Custer. The cabin is neat, tidy and modern with some cool fixtures made by the previous resident who was apparently a blacksmith. The kitchen is well-equipped and the appliances are great. It was a hot summer week when we were there but we would love to have been able to fire up the wood stove and get cosy! Orielle was very helpful - we had an issue with the internet connection that was out of her control but which she was very quick to address for us. Be aware that the access to the upstairs loft is not great for young kids (this was fully disclosed in the pictures - no surprises) - my wife and I slept up there in the rather firm twin beds and gave the comfy doubles downstairs to our kids so they had easier access to the bathroom in the night. We would not hesitate to recommend this cabin to friends.

This is a beautiful cabin in a beautiful, quiet area. We loved staying here, and it definitely beat staying in town--we loved having room to stretch out, enjoy amazing views from every window, and have a more authentic experience than staying in town. That said, there were a few issues we wish we would have known when we booked: 1. The wifi was spotty, and it didn't work much during the last half of our trip. This made working remotely a non-possibility and was pretty frustrating (the benefit of a remote cabin is tempered by no cell and only occasional wifi). 2. The kitchen does not include a dishwasher. 3. We had a power outage one of the days. No big deal, but the water is on a pump system, so no power=no water. Our four young boys enjoyed this at first, until they realized there was nothing to drink, the toilets didn't work, etc. Some of these things aren't too surprising, given the remoteness of the location. Orielle was easy to work with, we loved the property, and we'd definitely stay here again the next time we're in the area. This was one of our favorite vacations, and the cabin played a big roll in that. If you're okay with some of the drawbacks, you'll have a great time here.

The place is very nice and quiet. Hated the road getting to it. Hard to get on wifi

Response from Orielle:
Marlene, We apologize for any difficulty that you experienced with the WIFI. At times being "in the woods" can create some technical difficulties. Thank you for your feedback!

Family friendly, close to everything we wanted to see, and plenty of space for a big family! We loved the privacy of being out "in the woods"- but the comfort of a full kitchen, bath and laundry! I would recommend it to friends and family and hope to return again!
