Where you’ll be

Ouzenda, Pedrôgão Grande, Portugal

A 10 minute drive takes you to the Cabril dam, situated close to the nearest town of Pedrogão Grande. For those not brave enough to swim the lake, there is a floating lido and the nautical club, which hires out canoes for exploring the lake as well as very inexpensive mooring for boats. Fishing is a national pastime on the lake, with competitions each year. Overlooking the lake is the Lago Verde restaurant, café and bar. Very popular for its stunning lake views and local menu http://www.restaurantelagoverde.com/.
Historical Pedrogão Grande has two supermarkets, local shops, banks, cafés, bars and an out of town nightclub. A very helpful and informative Tourist Office is housed in a beautiful, restored stone building which also hosts regular art exhibitions. During the summer there is a full itinerary of festas, always very well attended, with a big open air concert and firework finale.
