Stephen and I just returned from a fabulous March Break Vacation in G402 at the Stanza Mare, hosted by Benjamin with the Volalto Group!
The condo was exactly as described and the pictures were very accurate. This is a very comfortable place for a couple or a small family, as the loft bedroom is an added bonus!
The condo was clean, well maintained and we loved the huge balcony! Being on the top floor, provided us with a stellar view and fresh air all day and night (we never closed the patio doors at all during our stay - which resulted in no AC use and a very low electricity bill of $13 US for the week!). We enjoyed leisurely mornings and relaxed evenings on the balcony; It is definitely a perk, and one of the reasons we booked this condo. It is also very quiet in the mornings and evenings, as described, and therefore we were able to read, talk and listen to jazz while enjoying the view.
The pool was great, and the little restaurant/bar onsite offered a variety of snack/meal options. However, we highly recommend walking to the small village/town to purchase groceries, and enjoy dining outside. Our favourite restaurant was Citrus! It had outstanding service and food (especially the Tuna Tartar!!!). We also enjoyed 'The Huracane Cafe' on the Beach and the new, 'Wacamole' Restaurant!
The beach cabanas were also great, security was on site and the space between the cabanas was generous (we have stayed at a 4 star resort on the same beach previously and found the Stanza Mare superior). The only draw back to the beach was that there is a busy tour dock close to the Stanza Mare that had a lot of boat traffic in and out throughout the day (party boats, pirate ship, etc.). This also resulted in a very small beach swimming area, that we rarely used (we opted for the pool instead and/or we walked along the beach until we found a good place). However, it is worth noting that this did not stop us from enjoying the beach throughout the day (i.e., we spent most days at the beach vs. the pool).
Ultimately, for those of you considering a move from an all-inclusive resort to this type of experience, we would highly recommend it for these reasons:
* people at the resort (even during March Break) didn't always throw down towels to reserve chairs at either the beach or pool. We were always able to find a spot and never had to stress.
* We loved being on our own schedule, and we think that this ultimately made the trip feel longer (i.e., no need to "book" meal times at a la carte restaurants, or attend buffets during set meal times).
* the opportunity to interact with local businesses and people
We want to thank Benjamin and the Volalto group for a wonderful week!
