Where you’ll be

Gwynedd, United Kingdom

Situated on the Mawddach Estuary that has been described as "possibly the most beautiful in the United Kingdom". It is tidal and a constantly changing vista. There are wonderful walks as well as loads of outdoor activities including: stand-up paddle-boarding, pony trekking, white-water rafting and steam engine rides along the coast.

Visitors often plan to hike to the summit of Mt. Snowdon or take it easy by riding the railway to the top. The longest zip line in Europe is just a short car journey away for the thrill-seekers in your group.

Enjoy cycling or walking the Mawddach Trail, wending its way the length of the estuary from the historic Barmouth/Fairbourne bridge to the market-town of Dolgellau. Plan to refresh and rest a while at The George Inn at the end of the trail!

The Panorama Walk is a "must-do" activity. An easy half-hour walk uphill from the Lodge will take you up and behind the house to the summit of the hill from where you can enjoy an almost 360 degree view spanning the sea,
Cardigan Bay, the Bridge and the length of the estuary.

Arianfryn estate has been in my husband's family for many years. We live there in the summer and Arianfryn Lodge, the cottage, is available during that time. We enjoy travelling and meeting new people. We love dogs and welcome well-behaved family pets. We are a family of aviators (husband and son) and vintage car enthusiasts! We have lived in many different countries, including South Africa, Japan, USA as well as in UK and Europe.

We invite guests to enjoy the woodland walks on the property, but if taking your dog, appreciate if you "pick up" after them!
