The space

The Thyme room is an upstairs bedroom overlooking a beautiful view of the front garden. It has a comfortable twin bed, chest of drawers and a large desk. A walk-in closet is available for your storage needs. We provide a terry cloth robe, a hairdryer and mini-iron. The Thyme room is comfortable for 1 guest.

The room shares a common 3/4 bathroom and a beautifully appointed living room and dining room with a Batchelder fireplace... a bit of old Pasadena charm.

The dining room has a fridge, microwave and Keurig. Rhea provides large jars filled with homemade cookies and breakfast cereals. We invite you to pour yourself a cup of coffee or tea and relax in the comfy living room or enjoy the view on the bistro table outside the dining room or at one of the lovely seating areas in the back garden. It's magical in the evening on a warm night.

Rhea is a caterer by trade and she loves to cook. If you are interested in enjoying her home cooked Mediterranean food, please ask her. She would be more than happy to provide dinner for $10-$20 per guest.

The outdoor kitchen is fully stocked with plates, cutlery, BBQ, burners, fridge and ice maker. We would be thrilled if you used Henry's Taverna (what we call our outdoor kitchen space) and cut a few herbs from the herb garden to enhance your culinary creations .

The ping pong table is always available and Rhea can easily be coerced into a fun game.

Guest access

Guests have access to the living and dining room and share the outside gardens including the outdoor kitchen.

Interaction with guests

Our family lives in the house , but mostly stays in the back of the house, while guests use the front part of the house.

The neighbourhood

We love Pasadena and all the things it offers. Great food, architecture, shopping, museums and schools.

Getting around

Other things to note

We are a non-smoking and no pets home. We want our guests to relax and enjoy our beautiful home the way we do.
We love small children, but unfortunately our home is not child proof. Thanks.

Rhea's place is amazing! It's so quiet and private. It is claremont set to the Huntington Library, great shopping and fine dining. I had a blast!

Rhea is the consummate host. She and her husband are great, the house is clean, comfortable and charming, and in a great location. It was one of my best, if not the best, Airbnb experiences yet.

Nice room to myself. Older home with lots of character. My only disappointment was I was informed I had to purchase a parking permit, after I had booked the room. Host did give details on how to find a local kiosk to purchase parking permit, but after having travelled many hours to be there it was an extra step that could have been provided for me by host or given instructions to purchase online before my arrival.

This is a nice place to stay. Very good decorations and great location. Close to 210. The host provides breakfast for guests. Very clean and tidy. My mom had a good time staying in Rhea's house. Highly recommend to everyone.

Excellent experience and nice stay at The Villa, it's a quite, clean and cozy place in Pasadena. Rhea is so friendly and thoughtful that I can feel at ease during my stay. Also, there're always homemade cookies and coffee available in the living room!

This is a gorgeous, beautifully furnished Arts and Crafts house in a scenic, historic neighborhood of Pasadena. The Thyme Room (where I stayed) is very comfortable, with a good bed and big desk for working; Rhea also has several rooms and a lot of garden space open for guests. I was impressed by Rhea's attention to detail in thinking of everything her guests might need. She provides a robe, toiletries, breakfast, cookies, and other nice touches that help you settle in. The house is in a quiet area, but also within walking distance of the LA Metro Gold Line. Street parking is easy, but you have to get a permit (for $3/night) to leave your car on the street overnight.

As a caterer and Interior designer , both of these skills are used as I host.

My style is a mix of Old World and the ease of California living.
