Description

The space

This is a cozy comfortable lodging in a great location at a fantastic price.

This sweet little studio accommodates 2 adults, or 2 adults and 2 young (under 10) children. Children are free of charge. Additional adults are not permitted.

The casita is a funky little beach get away, with fairly traded bamboo floors, a big skylight for moon watching, french doors to a fenced garden, and gate access to the La Selva hiking trail. Artists, in particular, seem to love our space.

The casita is a great little, basic space that was once upon a time a 2 car garage! It's a perfect home base for all of your South Bay adventures, from hiking the beautiful Palos Verdes Peninsula, to sun slacking at the beach, surfing, shopping at the unique boutiques in Riviera Village, having a relaxing spa day in the village, Universal Studios and Disneyland, Hollywood, or just a quiet stay with your loved one.

We supply a very efficient heater for the cool months, but bring slippers as the floor gets a little chilly.

Direct gate access to the famous La Selva hiking and jogging trail. Jog/walk/run right down (almost) to the ocean!

Gorgeous residential neighborhood. peaceful, plenty of parking, away from street noise but still walkable to Riviera Village and South Redondo Beach.

NEW Queen Serta Sleeper, NEW double glass shower, NEW sleeper sofa, Efficiency kitchenette with microwave, electric skillet, and mini refrigerator, coffee maker. Indoor table for checkers or meals. Outdoor cooking on a propane grill with burner is also offered. Outdoor dining table and outdoor sink for dishwashing.

Guest access

This unit is stand alone studio and is completely PRIVATE.

The Cozy Casita has its own fenced yard; the yard space between the main house and the Casita is shared.

We are pretty flexible and easy. We ask that guests respect our house rules and our neighbors by being quiet during evening and early morning hours. Please treat our house the way you treat your own.

This is a special find in the South Bay. The price is relatively low and the accommodations feel more like the San Fransisco, Santa Cruz, or Seattle area than the slick and polished LA area. This is a vintage cottage farmette on a wood chip trail by the ocean. We love it here, and hope you do too!

We are walkable to the ocean, but we are not ocean front. The walk down to the beach is filled with beautiful vista of the queen's necklace from Catalina to Santa Barbara and the Channel Islands.

This is a NO SMOKING and NO VAPING property! :)

NO SMOKING is allowed anywhere on the property.

I am happy to exchange a Q&A about the accommodations... I love hosting and most of our guests enjoy their stay immensely. xxx

Interaction with guests

I will be around if needed, via text, phone, or in person!

The neighbourhood

The Hollywood Riviera is a quiet neighborhood up above Malaga Cove and RATs beach. This quiet neighborhood features unparalleled views of the "queens' necklace," from Catalina Island to Santa Barbara. The walk down to South Redondo Beach is gorgeous, and peaceful. The welcome absence of street lights provides stunning star studded nights. One of the oldest neighborhoods of the south bay, The Riv is forested in 122' tall eucalyptus trees, that give this part of the south bay a Pacific Northwest flavor.

Riviera Village is the jewel of the South Bay. A small walkable village with local spas, restaurants, and shopping, Riviera Village is a beautiful place for a romantic holiday, a family get-away, or a simple trip alone.

South Redondo Beach has some of the best Kite Sailing, Surfing, and hiking in Souther California. Even the dolphins and whales choose this cove! Surf rentals are located just a 10 minute walk down to the beach, just beside Perry's restaurant on the beach: all of the makings for a beautiful afternoon in SoCal.

Getting around

Lyft and Uber, or shortish walk to the beach (3/4 mile) or to the Village center (1 mile).

Other things to note

Walk to the beach, TRADER JOE'S, Riviera Village cafes and spas!

This is a family property, children often live in the vicinity. It's perfect for visitors who are wanting to relax, and small families with children of all ages.
We are laid back, and really enjoy hosting on AirBNB!
Pets sleep in their own beds, not on the furniture. Pets can not be left alone in the bungalow. A $25 pet fee applies.
Quiet time after 9:00 pm.
2 people maximum for this sweet little beach bungalow. Additional children under 10 years old can be considered. Please let me know if there is anything you need as soon as you arrive, and I will do my best to make it happen.

Thank you!

I am an artist and writer, and most of my focus for the past 11 years has been on non-bias and non-violence. My husband is LAPD. We have 3 young children. We all live here on the property, (in a separate building) and you will typically meet at least a couple of us during your stay at some point.

We are pretty flexible and easy. We ask that guests respect our house rules and our neighbors by being quiet during evening and early morning hours. Please treat our house the way you treat your own. Also, you have to love animals, because we have at least 7 roaming around, some inside the house, at any 1 time.

This is a special find in the South Bay. The price is low and the accommodations feel more like the San Fransisco, Santa Cruz, or Seattle area than the slick and polished LA area. This is a vintage cottage farmette on a wood chip trail by the ocean. We love it here, and hope you do too!

We are walkable to the ocean, but WE ARE NOT OCEAN FRONT. I love to walk, so my estimate of the walk down to the ocean may not be what you experience. Guests have said everything from "it's a quick walk," to "It was longer than expected." Assuming you are able to walk, it will definitely take you less than 20 minutes to walk down; typically, for someone who is fit, it takes about 12.

This is a NO SMOKING property! NO SMOKING is allowed anywhere on the property.

I am happy to exchange a Q&A about the accommodations... I love hosting and most of our guests enjoy their stay immensely. xx
