Interaction with guests

I live up here alone. I paint, read, study and meditate. I am most often available for talking, listening to music, watching a movie, directions, tips of where to go depending on who is going, what you like to do and who you like to do it with. I have traveled for the last 25 years and am very comfortable talking with people from all over the world and different walks of life.

The neighbourhood

A very quiet and Rural Neighborhood. Large Amounts of Undeveloped Land for hundred's of miles to the North East. Just Beautiful. This is the Southern California High Desert.

I will Give you Directions. But please, you should use an offline version of G Maps as well (or another hard copy of a map) as it will be very useful.

**Also very important to note: There are no street lamps out here away from town. At night the roads will be dark and street signs hard to see. This is a small rural town and I live off a dirt road. The Roads here bumpy, but that's good. The county does that so you won't get stuck in the sand. For your safety. Please Stay off soft sand (4 wheel drive only) roads.

**As soon as the sun goes down, everything looks different. Try to arrive before sunset. Please carry a flashlight with you as well.

We have 4 distinct seasons here. Mostly Lots of Beautiful Sunshine. Summer is very hot during the day (90's-100's Fahrenheit) and cooler in the evening (mid to upper 70's Fahrenheit). Autumn is warm during the day (70-80's F) and cooler in the evening (40-60's F). Winter is cold during the day (mid to upper 50's F) and colder at night (20-30's F). Spring gets warmer during the day (mid to upper 70's F) during the day and cooler at night (mid 50's F).

**These Temperatures are Only Estimates**

This is a Natural Desert. There are rabbits, little critters, snakes and scorpions. As in any Natural Preserve or National Park Area, be mindful of other living entities. Just look where you're going and use common sense.

Getting around

You can park your vehicles on my property. We are 4 miles from the bus that run M-F. We are 13 miles from town. You are a 15 minute drive to Joshua Tree National Park Entrance Gate. There are 2 markets (Heroes and Dollar Tree), a Mini-Mart (Hallidays Liquor), Gas Station (Mobile) and a bar (Landers Brew) and Restaurants (Heroes & $5 Pizza Place) 4-9 miles from my home. In town (Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley), it seems like it's growing all the time. Pizza, Sushi, and a handful of diners and Bars that serve American food too (Prices range from low to moderate to expensive). There are also Food markets ( Vons, Stater Bros.,Food 4 Less), Pharmacies (Wallgreens, Rite-Aid), a Big 5 sporting Goods and even a Wallmart.

Although it is a desert area around, you can enjoy majestic nature. It is safe because there is a toilet and a shower. I stayed in a car, but it is recommended for people who want to camp. Sunset, moon, sun, star, everything is felt beautifully.

I arrived after dark and was greeted by Shyama on the street. He guided me in to my spot and gave me a quick tour of the grounds. He was very nice and accommodating. The place was exactly as stated in the listing. There is a fire pit, restroom access, a small refrigerator and best if all, stars. I got in pretty late and it was cold so I decided to go to bed. I have a camper truck so I slept in there but if I had a tent it would have been even nicer. I woke early the next morning and walked over to the house to use the restroom. Shyama and another guest were there and invited me for some conversation and coffee. I made my self comfortable in the back yard and joined in. I spent the next few hours hanging out with Shyama, talking, laughing, checking out bugs, we even made some music together. Shyama's camp site is very simple and bare bones, it was perfect for me. I enjoyed my stay there very much and would go back anytime I'm in need of a simple place to crash under the beautiful stars.

I was driving through on a road trip with my dog. I had a sound bath planned at the Integratron and he watched my dog for a few hours playing with her and giving her love. Was very kind and helpful in ensuring I had accurate directions to his place which is very secluded.

Shyama was very helpful and responsive. We needed a place the night of, and he was swift to help us out. We will definitely check to see if his place is available next time! Thank you Shyama!

This was my second time staying at Shyama's place because I had such a blast the first time. This is a great place to camp out if you want to be more secluded. It is about a 10-15 minute drive into the park from this place. I'm definitely coming back, as I feel like I can now call Shyama my friend. He is a genuinely nice guy who has nothing but good intentions, which is hard to find these days. If you want a true Joshua Tree experience (secluded camping, good conversations around a fire with good people, nothing but the stars above you, etc.), this is the place to go.

Shyama is a very, very hands-on Airbnb host. He is helpful and knowledgeable about the area. He will be very present during your stay, even to the point of helping you set up your tents. This is not really an independent, private camping experience, so campers looking for a more hands-off outdoor holiday might not be a good fit. Either way, your stay with Shyama will be memorable and those looking for a more communal experience with their host (and enjoy spiritual music and classic rock) will enjoy desert life.

My time at Shyama's Airbnb was magical. If you are looking to feel removed from the city and get some peace and tranquility, this place is perfect. There was great stargazing and the most beautiful sunrise I've ever seen. Shyama is an excellent communicator and is super helpful in directing you to his place. Thanks for a great experience Shyama!

I am a very spiritual person. I love nature, I love rock and roll music, I love to read and meditate. I am a 3rd generation American born artist and I love to speak about The Lord of the Universe Philosophy and Mother Nature. I love my Guru Maharaja and have a beautiful and auspicious relationship with my Vrndavana Mom. I love the Movie Star Wars, Composer Beethoven and Sriman George Harrison. I love to eat fresh fruit, Pizza and Nachos (but not all together) and my favorite book's are The Bhagavad-Gita, The Srimad Bhagavatam, Siddhartha and Dharma Bums. I live here alone in conscious indebted solitude and I am a very quiet person.

I'm 45 years old Developmentally Disabled Person. I have impaired social interaction, verbal and non-verbal communication that may appear to be unusual and sometimes challenging.

I'm very respectfull of others and their privacy, as well. I expect my guests, especially ones younger than me to treat me and my home with reverence. I am available to help in many way's to make your stay a pleasurable one. To leave you be, or to show you around Town and/or the National Park and Nature Preserves here in the Beautiful Eastern Mohave.

Looking forward to showing you real Southern California by imparting genuine warm-hearted hospitality. Small Town with Big Hearts. See you soon.
