Our family experience staying at the Eagle’s Nest cabin was outstanding. My wife, two small boys (5 & 3 yrs) and I found this cozy little cottage to be the perfect mix of rustic with modern amenities (we typically don’t watch TV while Up North, but we were thrilled to have one since our vacation fell during the Olympics!). We’ve been on the Manitowish chain on many occasions, and this location was great. The cabin was a charming place for us to unwind after a long day on the water, and the beds were very comfortable (2x doubles and a cot – sheets, towels and bedding included). The kitchen is small but had everything we needed (utensils, bowls, cutting board, etc) to cook family meals. The cabin comfortably sleeps a family of 4, but we wouldn’t recommend much more than that – it would be snug. We were able to tie up our 17 ft boat at the dock with ease, and there’s a WONDERFUL paved fire pit with chairs by the water for s’mores and watching the sunset. The kids really enjoyed swimming off the dock to the swim raft and wading in a sandy bottom area right off the dock steps. We spotted tons of wildlife – loons, bald eagles and deer on or near the property. The cabin is not exactly lakeside, you have to walk down several steps to get to a flat lawn area where the lake is, but you can easily drive down a paved driveway if you are step averse or have any walking issues (there’s a parking spot at the bottom too). The property is beautifully kept all-around. The host was available, but there was a nice sense of privacy as well. Highly recommend!
