Surrounded by 87 acres of wild land, with its own seashore, Corry is a historic house in a secluded world of its own. One of Skye's oldest and most beautiful homes, hidden by trees, the. house sits a hundred feet from the shore of Broadford Bay.

Our land holds an ancient Atlantic woodland with the foothills of Ben-na-Caillich above and the waters of the Bay below. Across our land are breath-taking views of landscape and nature, including otters and possibly, if you are very lucky, a dolphin.

The space
The Laird's room is a large, quiet room accessed directly from the entrance hall and up an elegant curved staircase. It has beautiful views across our large garden to the sea in front and the woodland behind. There are no other guests in the main part of the house.

The room has a large and comfortable king-size bed, and a traditional bath - with Himalayan bath salts on tap.

All of Skye is within easy reach, and Broadford and its restaurants are a 15 - 20 minute walk or a short drive away.

To ensure that our guests have the peace of mind that Skye is famous for, breakfast is now delivered to the Laird's room (8 am to 10 am) and we provide facilities for in-room dining of food taken from Broadford's many restaurants as well.
We are able to make recommendations for great local takeaways for evening meals (see 'Neighbourhood' for some examples). Your room has a microwave as well as plates and cutlery.

We are at the house and happy to answer questions, whether by phone or socially appropriate distance. Check in is between 4 and 9 pm.

Check in can be independent or with socially appropriate distance. If you prefer independent check in, keys will be in the entrance hall with a welcome message and directions to your room - we ask only that you send us a message to let us know you have arrived - and what time you would like breakfast to be delivered.

During check in hours we will be available to answer any questions by phone or social distanced conversation; if arriving after check in hours, we will be contactable by phone up to midnight but subject to a late arrival fee (see House Rules).

Where you’ll be

Broadford, United Kingdom

The Corry Estate is a wonderful neighbourhood of its own and offers great access to the wider islands and highlands.

On the estate, there are beautiful walks across land, up the hills at the back and along the shore. The sea can be seen from almost everywhere, with views across Broadford Bay to the islands of Pabay and Scalpay and to Applecross and the highlands. There are also wonderful views to the Cuillins, including Ben-na-Caillich and to the tomb of a Viking princess perched atop (the Viking princess who whose family became the Skye Mackinnon Clan - who once owned all of Strath, and built the Corry estate).

The Lodge is within walking distance to the tranquil village of Broadford, with a small range of local shops and a wide range of restaurants, all now offering takeway. These include the Harbour Restaurant, Sia Away and Cafe Sia (the Harbour Restaurant does wonderful seafood and paella, the Claymore does great traditional food, including haggis, fresh fish and sticky toffee pudding, Cafe Sia is particularly well known for its wood-fired pizza and Sia Away does fish and chips).

The Laird's room has a microwave and a fridge, as well as plates and cutlery (all collected and cleaned after every evening meal and replaced the following day).

Walking and climbing are especially popular, with the beautiful Cuillins Mountains (black and red) dominating the local landscape. A wide array of other Islands and popular highland areas are within easy reach. There’s wonderful coastal scenery, trails with breathtaking views, abandoned villages to explore, and many other outdoor activities to enjoy. Photography and nature watching are also especially popular, with some wonderful birds and wildlife in the area. This includes otters, seals, dolphins, the magnificent while-tailed eagle (Britain’s largest bird of prey), and at times Orca whales, Whooper swans, Brent geese, and many other types of marine and bird life.

Guests arriving by boat or yacht can moor at nearby MacKinnon's Pier.

For those preparing to go on adventures or camp further afield, there is a Co-op nearby and a hardware store in nearby Kyle of Lochalsh.

The Highlands are doing a wonderful job of keeping everyone safe.
