My wife and I loved staying at Dennis' house. Two things make this place amazing. First, the location couldn't be better. The house is located right near the coastal marshes that are so beautiful along this stretch of the Massachusetts coastline. We have visited this area for years, but I don't think we have ever stayed this close to the beautiful wetlands. In addition, the property has quite a large outdoor area, with a big lawn and separate deck area. Second, the house itself is beautiful. Dennis has converted the lower level of the house to a completely separate apartment area. It is all new construction, but it has a relaxed charm that made us feel at home. Of course, it has it's own kitchen and bathroom, all of which are spacious and well maintained. The apartment has it's own entrance, and you can come and go as you like. The plentiful windows let in lots of natural light, and also plenty of sea breeze to keep the place fresh and cool. The bed itself is quite new and comfortable. Dennis is a great host. He strikes just the right balance in terms of reaching out and communicating with you as guests, but then also giving you a good amount of space to enjoy the property yourself. He is kind and friendly person, and he made us feel very welcome. We loved our stay at this property! Truly an outstanding experience.

Adam - Thanks so much for your thoughtful and positive response. It's gratifying to know that this beautiful area is appreciated and enjoyed by others. Also good to know that I have neither bugged nor ignored you! I do hope that the next time you visit we get chance to talk some more. Thanks again.

My son and I had an unforgettable week at Dennis's place in August. We took a kayak every day up the tidal river and explored the nearby beautiful beaches. Crane beach was our favorite. Dennis has been the most gracious, kind and generous host to us. We felt welcomed and at home. The property is in a beautiful, private setting, yet very close to everything on the peninsula: beaches, restaurants and coastal towns: Essex, Manchester, Ipswich, Rockport and downtown Gloucester. You get the whole lower level of the house as your apartment, with a private driveway, yard and a deck. You can see the ocean from the front facing windows. The house is beautifully restored, newly updated and tastefully and lovingly decorated. Dennis, thank you for opening your house to us; for your generosity and kindness. We will always remember our vacation week on the Essex Bay.

From the moment we arrived and were warmly greeted by Dennis & Kai, our 2 day stay was everything we could have asked for and more. After they showed us through the lovely, well decorated, extremely clean & comfortable apartment, we immediately started to experience the peace & tranquility of the beautiful location on the salt marsh with views of the dunes of Crane Beach (which is a must to walk on)! The light in the afternoon is breathtaking. Although views can never be captured in pictures, the online description & photos are completely accurate. Dennis is a perfect Host, providing us with recommendations and also a great person to chat with. Thank You for the provisions for breakfast & apres' beach! I once lived in the area and it was so nostalgic to return to such a unique and beautiful place. Wish we could have stayed longer but we already are hoping to return soon and will always stay there!

Upon arrival we were greeted by Kai and Sydney (their sweet yellow labbie). We were shown to the apartment, and given a tour of the very adorable and clean space. What a view! Dennis arrived and they both spent considerable time sharing information and tips to help us enjoy our stay. This was our first Airbnb experience and what a fabulous success. We could not have felt more welcomed, and Dennis and Kai were generous sharing their space and general information about the area. It was a terrific location from which to explore the local towns and beaches (Wingaersheek is just 5 miles away). Dennis and Kai also provided some delicious breakfast and the most yummy cheese we have had in a long time!

Dennis was a fantastic host and very likable and warmhearted. The communication was very easy with him and he also answered/texted us immediately. We stayed two days at this wonderful and peaceful place in absolute nature. We felt home from the moment we've arrived an unfortunately didn't have time for a longer stay. Dennis gave as helpful recommendations and told us interesting things about the Marshland and the fauna there. Swimming at the time of high tide was a great experience! We even saw a turkey family and a fox passing by when we were sitting outside. We really appreciated that Dennis provided all we needed for breakfast in our fridge. Many thanks, it was a big pleasure to meet you and to talk with you about politics and other topics. We highly recommend this wonderful accommodation!

Dennis and Kai were there to greet us and the place is beautiful with a view of the estuary, marshland, bay and ocean. There were generous snacks. I was able to swim and enjoyed every minute of our stay.
