Description

The space

My home is very cozy and comfortable. Your private room holds a full size bed, closet with hangers for your own personal use, a storage ottoman, and bedside table. I provide soft linens for the bathroom along with soap, shampoo, and conditioner, just in case you forget yours. :) You are also welcome to enjoy the continental breakfast items available for you. I want everyone to feel completely relaxed and at home during their stay in this serene and pleasant city.

Guest access

You will have access to your private bedroom and private bathroom along with the kitchen, living room, and patio. Guests are more than welcome to take full advantage of the washer and dryer unit as well.

Interaction with guests

I am always available if guests need me via phone or email. If you have any questions about what to do in downtown, how to get around, or questions about the house, I am more than happy to help. I work nights at the hospital so some days you may not see me, but I always keep my phone on me and have mastered the skill of answering text messages in my sleep.

The neighbourhood

This charming little home is located in downtown historic Charleston near the Ravenel Bridge, just a short walk away from the Cigar Factory and Upper King Street, where you will find all of the restaurants, bars, and stores of the popular area.

Getting around

There are endless ways to travel around Charleston. Walking, Uber, and biking are the most common ways to travel. However, pedicab rides are extremely fun and the free trolley is a great way to get around the immediate downtown area as well.

Other things to note

My apartment was just built two years ago and is in perfect condition, but there are other parts of the neighborhood that aren't as nice and I would not want anyone to be shocked as they are driving through. I have never had a problem with any of the less developed neighboring houses, but I would not want anyone to question their safety upon arrival. :)

Twana is an excellent and highly accommodating host. It is clear she wants her guests to have the most comfortable and pleasant stay possible. She offers a free basic breakfast and also gives you a wonderful guide upon arrival. She offers privacy, but is also accessible if you need anything. The location was close enough to downtown. There is an Olympic size swimming pool across the street, so bring your bathing suit! The neighborhood looks a little run down, but as a solo female traveler, I felt safe enough to walk around by myself during the day time. The place is very clean and roomy. Highly recommended! Excellent stay.

Twana was excellent, super nice. Her place is just a couple minutes drive to downtown, and though a bit of a walk doable during the daytime that way.

Twana was a wonderful host for my brief stay. She was flexible with arrival/departure and quick to respond to questions. A great list of restaurants and activities was waiting in the room. The bedroom door locks separately from the common area and I had a separate bathroom. Walking to the downtown area is 30-40 minutes, so it's best to have a car or use ride-share.

We liked near proximity to King street, good coffee shops and college campus.

Had a great stay at Twana's place in Charleston. It's a cozy apartment and the room has a private bathroom which was great. Twana was very helpful, leaving us some guides and personal suggestions. Charleston is a great city and this is a great home base.
