Me and my boyfriend stayed at Maryse's three nights in the middle of August. Overall our staying was awesome, because of Maryse's hospitality, the comfort of the room, the beauty of the area and of the neighborhood.
First, Maryse has been an incredible host, providing us with every help and piece of advice we needed (e.g. she picked us up from the station, gave us a lift to go back, got us to bike rental, etc...). She has always been polite and payed attention to our needs. Last but not least, every morning we found breakfast ready on the table of our little garden. This brings me to my second point: the accomodation. The room is comfortable for two, well furnished (Maryse's paintings on the wall). It has a double bed, a little wardrobe, a fridge, a television, and a bathroom (with a really comfortable Italian-style shower which we appreciated). On the outside you will find a little beautiful patio with the table and two chairs, the barbecue, a drying rack and a beach chair. A little shared kitchen is also available, in case you need the microwave or dishes, or others (broom, soap, etc...). Everything really calm and with the beautiful view of the forest. Indeed, my third point is on the area. Maryse's house is situated in a calm and beautiful neighborhood 4km from the Dune du Pyla. With a 5minutes walk you can reach the shop area with a big supermarket, pharmacy, and everything you could need. We rent two bikes in order to reach the beach and nearest towns. Everywhere you will find bike lanes. We suggest you either rent bikes or a car, because it is not possible to use public service. Please note that it is possible to reach the beach by feet, but it could take one hour or more, and you won't be able to easily reach other places which are worth seeing (like the little market in La Teste du Buch, or Plage La Corniche, where you can have a drink and French-cheese tasting with the unbelievable view of the sunset on the ocean - of course Maryse will be able to help you with every piece of advice you might need).
In conclusion, either Maryse's has been a perfect host and the room is a perfect accommodation! And of course the area is absolutely worth seeing!g
