About this listing

My place is located within 10 minutes of downtown Castle Di Sangro, positioned in the Apennine Mountains; Scontrone is centrally located within the neighboring towns of Roccaraso, Pescocostanzo, Abruzzo National Park, and other winter and summer resorts located in Southern Abruzzo of central Italy. The space

This apartment is a fantastic place to stay if you want to be within a short drive of skiing, dining, shopping, sightseeing, and everything else this town offers. With multiple ski areas right on the edge of town, plenty of businesses to explore downtown, and other outdoor areas nearby, you won't have to go far to experience the best of the area! In fact, the ski area of Rocccaraso, otherwise known as the Ski pass Alto Sangro, is the best known of the Abruzzo resorts and has no less than 120 km of piste for you to enjoy (including 8 km at Pescocostanzo). Roccaraso is Italy’s biggest ski area and at weekends is very popular with skiers and non-skiers alike from Naples and Rome.

The neighbourhood

Built in the 1960s, my wife inherited this lovely home from her lovely and generous mother. The property is special to us because of its location sitting on top of the mountain hill elevated approximately 1100 ft above sea level. It has corner windows, a large terrace, wood burning fireplace, spacious living room, large garden, newly built paved road, and close proximity to the nearby popular towns. I'm in heaven when I'm there. The location is amazing! My family and I can easily visit the neighboring historic towns and enjoy all that nature has to offer. What more could you ask for? :-)

Getting around

I love Scontrone! I love the people mostly. They are warm, friendly and healthy. The beauty, the elegance, the gorgeous panoramas, the festivity events throughout the summer time within the neighboring towns and the fresh air drew me to Scontrone. I couldn't decide which season I loved the most. Taking my wife and son skiing in winter is convenient and fun. Spring in Scontrone is a unique paradise both socially and for skiing in great weather. Summer wildlife, hiking, biking and camping is heaven on earth along with the beautiful Food and Wine Festival and Music Festival. Fall is beyond colorful and breathtaking, like nothing I had ever seen before. It's all amazing, all the time, everywhere in Scontrone and its surrounding areas.

Other things to note

The apartment has its own separate access that could accommodate up to 4 people. A designated parking space, full kitchen with stove, oven, refrigerator, washing machine, living/dining room and bathroom you and your family will also experience the panoramic view of the property.

My lovely and bella wife (Marina) and I are the property managers of this lovely home. We live in the heart of downtown Naples and love to travel, spend a lot of time in our mountain home, hike, camp and spend time with our adorable son, friends and family. Most of the summer weekend, we like to escape the hustle and buzzle of bella Napoli and work around the house of our mountain home. We love the outdoors and dining as well with our Scontrone family friend (Salvatore) who makes one of the best homemade pizza and wine in his lovely home nearby.
