About this listing
You cannot beat the jaw-dropping beauty of the surroundings on my lane in the historic Vinelands neighborhood of Colorado's Wine Country. Quiet, cozy and offering a special connection with nature and rural life. Feel at home for long stays. Conveniently located near the interstate for short stops. Access to myriad Rocky Mountain adventures (bike, hike, raft, ski, etc!). Wineries are open 365 days a year. And your well behaved fur babies are welcome, too!
Located in the highly sought after Vinelands neighborhood of Palisade, my 2 bedroom house located on a quiet rural lane is surrounded by acres of orchards and vineyards and offers unbeatable views.
Each room offers many windows to bring in the natural beauty and Colorado sunshine. I have a European design sensibility so the house has a combination of rural charm and an influence of my beloved Italy. The primary bedroom has a converted antique iron bed with a new has new comfy queen mattress. The other bedroom, which is set up for an office, has a sofa that converts to a full size bed. The day bed in the living room can also be made into a small twin.
The large, fully stocked kitchen is a cooks delight with lot of prep space and storage for you. Dining options include the bar-top table and chairs (plus 2 stools if you need extra seating) or when weather allows dine al fresco on either the patio with a glass top and 4 chairs or move the wooden picnic table, which can seat 6, to a location on the property to enjoy the best views. I also have grill on the back patio. The weather usually allows year round barbecue.
The bathroom offers a full tub and great water pressure. There are towels and toiletries in the bathroom along with space for you to store your personal items.
The bedroom and the office each have closest with shelves and hangers. The bedroom also has a dresser available to you.
Laundry room with washer, dryer and an iron and ironing board.
The property is just over an acre and is crossed by a stream, which feeds a healthy riparian area offering lots of cooling shade and a place to soak your feet. This is a rural setting, not manicured. My yard is partially landscaped and fenced, but the rest of the property is in its natural state.
Are you a dog lover like me? Your well-loved (in other words, well behaved) dog is welcome. And I don't charge pesky-pet fees! The yard is fenced--front and back--and there is a doggie door in the laundry room. I don't charge pet fees since I travel with dogs all over the country and know the hassle. This is really a doggies dream property, which was my primary reason for buying it for my beloved Madeleine. Though, if you're traveling with more than one dog, please let me know the situation first. A group of people with a group of dogs might call for a different agreement for this cozy house.
Guest access includes the entire house and surrounding yard and field (but not the shed or garage).
Interaction with guests
I won't be around for the visit, but am available by phone or email. You'll have the place to yourself! I have family in the area should you need help in person.
Other things to note
I try to accommodate as long a stay as possible. I'm still figuring out the new monthly price settings within the program so we might have to discuss the rate that comes up when you request to book. Check-in and Check-out are determined based upon each booking--basically based upon other bookings and the timing to get the place cleaned up. I'll let you know when I share all the house info. after you've booked.
Since you'll have the place to yourself, I want you to feel at home, but I appreciate you tidying up after yourself--especially in the kitchen and bathroom. If you have your dog with you, a bark or two is ok, but you might get push back from the neighbors if there is barking for more than 5 minutes. Golden Rule is the best--treat the home as you'd want yours treated. Feel welcomed and relaxed, but respect my privacy, too. Thanks!

I'm not only an Airbnb Host, but a regular Airbnb Guest. I'm living up to the nomadic nature of my family with a deep love for travel and adventure. Palisade was a great home base and I'm excited to share my cottage and all that it has to offer. I am an art historian working in galleries, museums and now film production. I'm an animal lover and was a very dedicated pet parent to the best dog ever--my house is still filled with paintings I've done and photos I've taken of her.
