We loved our stay in Juneau! Carl was a wonderful host - very responsive - from researching fishing trips and whale watching expeditions to providing Alaskan halibut for our first meal. The apartment was perfect for us - new and clean. Even the sheets were fantastic. We had an amazing time on the ocean, at one point being surrounded by a pod of orcas. So amazing. And we came home with lots of salmon which we caught within 15 minutes of the apartment. Thanks Carl! We loved everything about our stay!

I had a great experience at Carl's Airbnb! He was a wonderful, kind, helpful and friendly host. My guest and I stayed in a clean, spacious apartment style place on a quiet, friendly street. I definitely recommend staying here!

I was very impressed with my stay! It was very clean and easily accessible. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to stay in a comfortable place near the glacier.

SUMMARY: Great host with accommodations even better than pictured in the perfect location! HOST: Even though Carl was out of town while we were there, he was a great host! Carl is super quick to respond and easy to communicate and "checking in" was smooth. Exactly what you hope for! ACCOMMODATIONS: To be honest, the pictures don't do it justice as the actual accommodations far exceeded what I was anticipating based on the pictures alone. The house/neighborhood seems very new they are still building quite a few homes around. The flooring is really cool "bleached hardwood" tile, nice rugs, great kitchen with everything you need if you want to cook, and comfortable bed. LOCATION: Personally, we don't like cities when traveling so this location was perfect for that. Landing at the airport late in the date it was a quick and easy trip to find Carl's place which was nice after a long day traveling from Georgia. Thunder mountain is a stunning backdrop when walking outside and just minutes from the stunning glacier (bikeable if interested). We also ventured north to one of the coolest trails we've been on called Point Bridget Trail in the Point Bridget State Park. Downtown Juneau wasn't too far away but a quick drive through the city was more than enough for us as there were 4 cruise ships in harbor so we were so glad to be staying in the Mendenhall Valley. We hope to be back in Juneau in a month or so and will definitely be coming back to Carl's place if available when in the area.

Carl was a great host, and his place is perfect for couples or adventure buddies seeking to explore the great outdoor attractions of Juneau! The proximity to Mendenhall glacier make this listing a rad place to call home base while you go explore the glacier(you could even do so using a pair of bikes that Carl has made available for his guests) . Taxi rides to and from the airport are around $12-15. Taxis to downtown Juneau were about $25-30. All of the amenities were in pristine condition, the bed was comfortable and i cannot recommend this place more.

Completely positive experience for all three of us! Host was responsive, cheerful and helpful from beginning to end of our time in Juneau. The neighborhood sits below a spectacular green mountainside, a short bike ride from the glacier, groceries, and decent places to eat. We would stay again in a heartbeat.
