About this listing

The Beach House is ideally located between Meloi Beach (35m) and Aspri Beach (150m). It is 1.5km to the port/town Skala. Boasts views of both beaches & the Monastery. Duplexed on a lane, The 1 bedroom house with separate kitchen is fully self contained, Spacious, Comfortable, Airy and Private. The Bathroom is Basic with shower, toilet & vanity. A great place to swim, relax, explore, stroll to town, or watch ships come in under stars. Mostly, Forever Fotini Beach House has a great energy & soul.

The space

Forever Fotini Beach House is unique because it gives the traveler the opportunity to rent an entire house, more often than not, on the Greek islands, a room is what's offered. Apart from that, a Hotel or Large costly houses are often the norm.
Forever Fotini is small house (1 bedroom, 1 kitchen, 1 bathroom) and is very reminiscent of a traditional Greek Island home although it was built in the 70s. It reflects how islanders lived a simple life in years past.
Perplexed on how to categorize the house, is it a Greek studio? (often called that), is it a duplex? (because a wall area is shared with a neighboring property, on the entry lane way?) a small villa?, in the end I decided it's a house with Meloi beach right in front of it, about 35m to the water, about 60m to the sand and shady trees. With Aspri Beach about 100 m away, and ships outside the kitchen doors awaiting entry to the port, BEACH HOUSE is what seemed logical.
FOTINI (my mum), upon seeing my absolute awe for its beautiful views (and my asking), gave it to me. I told her I would hold on to it for as long as I can, maybe FOREVER. Over the years I have endeavored to make the house as self contained and comfortable.
I know people love the energy and location of the house when they stay and I believe that the spirit and soul of mum is there to welcome guests with a Greek coffee when they arrive and that she would be overjoyed to know guests were enjoying their stay in her space.
This is how FOREVER FOTINI BEACH HOUSE was born.

Guest access

The entire house will be at your private disposal, this includes the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. You also have the entry area 'Avli' to use for outdoor dining and sitting. There is a terraced area near the kitchen which is an excellent spot for outdoor sitting and dining. The entire yard (easily defined) is also at your disposal. The yard is unlandscaped and guests should take care when walking around the yard, taking a shortcut to the beach, and especially walking on the rocky areas.
The lane way to the house services 3 other houses apart from my place. As you walk along the lane (20m) to the end, you will pass under a stone gateway, from this gateway Forever Fotini Beach House Starts. Please, At all times be considerate that the lane is communal, especially with parking, or coming home very late at night. I suggest leaving the outer lights on when you go out of an evening to make coming home easier. (Especially after a few ouzos)
The bins are on the street at the entry to the lane.

Interaction with guests

I live in Australia, however, I am always happy to answer any questions you may have. Australia is 7 hours ahead.

Your hosts are friendly and will be local and can help with any enquiries you have about the house. Often they may be available to give you valuable local information. You will check out also with them.
Your local hosts will speak basic English, Greek and possibly some other languages basics.

Arky's place is perched over Meloi Beach, a healthy walk from Skala, and I found it blissful. I wanted a quiet spot. This place has its own tiny garden to enjoy morning coffee or evening ouzo. The toilet and shower are in an adjoining room, so be prepared to make a few trips by moonlight. The view from the bathroom window is priceless. I can't imagine staying anyplace else on Patmos.

Two simple rooms, with a separate entrance for the bathroom, perched on a hill over a bay beach, with sheep and donkeys and chickens for neighbors. The walk to Skala is good exercise. This is for someone who likes things a little rustic. The view from the garden is and the kitchen window is stunning.

I arrived in Patmos by ferry, at 1am on a stormy morning. Lula, Arky's aunt, had arranged for a taxi to pick me up, and drive me to the apartment. The heater was on. Most welcome, and appreciated. In the day, Lula brought me a lot plate of home made bread and potato pieces and ham. The apartment is basic, but is cozy with all requisite facilities, including a washing machine. There is an outdoor bathroom, but this did not bother me. The location is superb, on an isolated cape overlooking the beautiful cove of Meloi. It is a 20 minute walk from the port of Skala. And it is quiet and peaceful. For those who are not bothered by an absence of luxury, this is a terrific place to stay.

The place was as described through the photos, big enough for 2. Located very close to Meloi beach which we visited several times, a nice and quiet beach. Good location also on the island as it was 4 km to most of the beaches and other villages. It's ideal to have a scooter or a car as you want to get around the island and visit all the beaches. Bathroom being in a small room out by the corner of the house was the only thing that was a bit tiredsome to go to in the middle of the night. Arky was a great host and neighboor Chris and Lola aslo very nice when we ran into then coming home at the end of the day. Can recommend this place for your stay in Patmos, well worth the price you pay.

Arky's place is amazing! It is located between two beaches, with great view and really quiet. Ms Loula and Chrysoula, the two ladies who take care of the place because Arky is at Australia are great! I loved Patmos and this place, it was exaclty what i was looking for.

Lucky to have the opportunity to share the beautiful energy of this duplex styled beach house, Named in honour of my mother 'Fotini'.
Nestled Between Meloi and Aspri beaches and 1.5km to the port and town Center of Patmos, Skala. It is ideally located to explore the island.
Patmos's positioning right in the middle of the Cyclades, Dodecanese , Aegean island groups and Turkey, makes for and excellent Basecamp to explore the Greek islands.
