The Sheep Herder's Wagon is not the name of a room, it is truly a wagon! This Wagon is part of Teton View Bed & Breakfast, located in Jackson Hole, close to Grand Teton and Yellowstone Nat'l Parks with views of the Tetons! The Wagon is tastefully done and rate includes a delicious breakfast & afternoon treats. Best for younger or able-bodied guests as it is a high step up to reach bed. There is NO bathroom in the Wagon though guests have a private bathroom with tub/shower in main house.

The space

A stay in this authentic sheep herder wagon is more than a stay; it's an experience! The insulated canvas-covered wagon has a queen bed, 2 sheep-skin covered benches, pull-out table, electric lights, and, yes, an electric heater (no cooking facilities). Sit comfortably outdoors under the awning at your own campfire ring with views of the Teton Range. Hear the call of the wild when coyotes howl at night, or the munching of leaves by moose grazing inches away from this wagon. Yes, be advised that your camping spot is often shared with moose!
A private bathroom with tub/shower is a mere 40 steps away in the main house.
PLEASE NOTE: Wagon is recommended for younger and adventuresome guests. Accessing bed requires one large step up on a side bench, then pulling yourself up onto the queen bed. And, we EMPHASIZE that there is NO BATHROOM, nor running water inside the Wagon....the private bathroom is in the main house!

Guest access

You have access to a quaint shared lounge with local information and coffee/tea bar, small fridge, microwave, dishes, etc., but no cooking facilities. And the outdoor hot tub with beautiful mountain views!
Great restaurants and groceries are a few minutes away.

Interaction with guests

We share our knowledge of the area and where to hike, view wildlife (it might be in the yard), dine, raft, horseback ride and take scenic drives. We've been running our b&b for 20 years and get lots of returning guests!

Mandatory taxes of 7% are due at check-in and can be paid in cash or with credit card.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights in the wagon and we couldn't have asked for a more memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, Carol and Franz made us feel very welcome. Their home is an absolute gem in one of the most beautiful places we've ever been. The wagon was cosy, clean and very comfortable. Our own private bathroom was perfect for a hot shower and getting ready for a day out exploring. The breakfast was out of this world and their company (along with other guests) was such an added treat. Thank you Carol & Franz for making our stay so wonderful.. we hope to someday return!

We had a truly lovely time with Carol and Franz staying in the charming sheep wagon. It was cosy, clean and a lovely experience- everything had been though of. Breakfast is incredible and Carol and Franz will go above and beyond in helping you to make the most of the beautiful surrounding area. The location is ideal for both the The Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. There are some lovely local restaurants too. We were even lucky enough to see a moose in the garden. We hope to visit again in the future.

First off, thank you for such a nice review. And also a huge thanks for the tip on the university in Vienna! We are going thru there in a month or so and will check it out. I really appreciate you two thinking of this. We hope the rest of your trip has been great. Have a safe trip home!

I could not rate this place highly enough! I stayed in the sheep herders wagon for 2 nights and it was beyond my expectations. Not only is it a great place to stay and a great location for Yellowstone/Grand Tetons but the hosts are the most welcoming fabulous people too! Carol and franz are 2 of a kind! They have so much knowledge on the surrounding areas and are happy to help in every way! They make an amazing breakfast too

Highly recommend staying here. I was concerned about getting cold. The temperature was perfect.

Response from Carol:
Oh, so glad you enjoyed thewagon experience, David! And glad you were warm enough. There is an extra blanket stashed in a drawer and I hoped you found it! Wish we could have visited with you two a bit, but we know time is of the essence while here! Enjoy the rest of your trip! Carol and Franz

Carol and Franz were incredible hosts. The breakfast was superb. Everything was very clean, the wagon and bathroom were cleaned every night. Safety was key, everything was able to be locked even in the wagon, bear spray above the door just in case. Carol and Franz had great hiking recommendations. Carol even made us a wedding card when she found out we were on our honeymoon. Would definitely stay here again.

One of the best......if you want a new benchmark/baseline for a wonderful AirBnB stay, then go spend a night, or two or three with Carol & Franz. Their home, property and location are wonderful. Their breakfasts are such that, once you have experienced your 1st one, you can't wait for the next day to wake up and have another! These two truly make you feel as if you have known them for years. They're both huggable & kissable upon departure! Can't say we've done that too many times with other hosts! There is no doubt that we will return to Jackson Hole/Grand Tetons and there is no doubt that it will be spent at the Teton View B&B.
