“Overarched by a blue sky
Overhung by a rugged mountain
Surrounded by trees and melodic birdsong
Accompanied by friendly kangaroos and cockatoos
In the bliss of morning at Rosea Cottage”
(Marian and Colin/Scotland/27Nov2019)

The space
Rosea Cottage is a much loved, spacious, one bedroom home with a welcoming feel. The high cathedral ceiling, bespoke furniture and artwork created by Marcus add to its charm. The king size bed, cozy lounge with wood fire, well appointed kitchen, spa and great views from the deck ensure a pleasant stay for a solo or couple's getaway.

We love our home and enjoy adding personal touches so it feels like a home away from home. In May 2019 Marcus made and installed the bathroom vanity from scratch to give the room a more rustic feel; and in January 2020 he renovated the kitchen to add light and colour to the space.

You’ll also enjoy the visiting local wildlife, and the magnificent views of The Grampians mountain range from the front porch and rear deck which provide the special setting that only nature can offer.

Guest access
If driving, the driveway is for your vehicle allowing direct access to the front entrance. Access is available 24/7. Instructions will be provided 2-3 days prior to check in.

Other things to note
Firewood for the combustion heater is provided May through October.

Halls Gap, Victoria, Australia

Rosea Cottage is situated within a 2-3 minute walk to the township of Halls Gap and all it has to offer. On your stroll to town for an early morning coffee, you’ll catch the amazing fragrance of the freshly baking waffle cones at the ice creamery. During the day, there are scenic drives, waterfalls to find, great hikes and even a winery area. In the evening you can walk to town for a meal at one of several restaurants. In April 2019 a micro brewery opened just a short walk from the house and is a great addition to the area! Halls Gap also boasts a real country pub, a chemist, grocery store, gift shop and the Information Centre. There's even a swimming pool in town for those hot summer months.

During the week I'm a professional in clinical trials /pharmaceutical research, and on the weekends you'll find me walking, hiking, cycling, or doing yoga. I say I'm an aspiring outdoor adventurer, but I think it's more fantasy than reality. I love regional Victoria because Marcus and I first met at Sailor's Falls near Daylesford and our relationship later blossomed in Halls Gap - both on hiking and camping trips with mutual friends years ago. We never get tired of the adventures that await in the beautiful areas of Victoria. Getting out of the bigger cities, we find the people are warm and friendly, and the animals, cafes, shops, wine, olives, hiking and biking are great all year. We love sharing our special place in Halls Gap with our guests, and hope you create your own memories so it becomes special for you too. We want you to enjoy regional Victoria as much as we do. But you don't have to be an adventurer - you can just relax at home or stroll to the local shops for a coffee or wine, or go for a scenic drive. There's definitely something for everyone.
