About this listing
Stunningly beautiful room in a spacious aristocratic flat on the banks of St. Petersburg's historic and picturesque Fontanka river. A brief walk from all of St. Petersburg's cultural and tourist hotspots: the Hermitage, Mariinsky Theatre, Nevsky Prospekt. But utterly wonderful in itself, with 5 meter ceilings, amazing balcony, ceramic fireplaces. Modern furnishing with all hi-tech mod cons and in a cool café-lined neighbourhood. Wake up to the most startling views in St. Petersburg!
Huge historic flat just minutes from the centre of the city. A unique opportunity to live right in the heart of St. Petersburg in one of its most beautiful buildings. Incredible view from the balcony, looking out over the shimmering Fontanka River and the unique blue, starred dome of Troitsky Cathedral. It's a joy to emerge right on to the banks of the river.
Bluetooth music mini-systems and phone chargers in each room. For instructions on how to use, please ask.
Access to the gigantic main room, flooded with light. Also to the mini-gym, with exercise bike and rowing machine. There is a store-room if you want to keep some belongings out of the way. And naturally, all the essentials: spacious bathroom and kitchen.
In general, you would be staying with me only, but the apartment is so huge - over 200 square metres - I really don't think there is any chance it will seem crowded. Occasionally, there may be a second guest, but if that's the case, I'll let you know when booking. Even then, there is more than enough space to go round.
My overall plan is to let just one room at a time and relatively occasionally - my main aim is to share this amazing place with visitors to one of the most astonishing cities in the world.
Also, please note that I have an electric water heater, so no chance of having to endure cold showers when the municipal water gets switched off for weeks every summer. Hot showers are available here every day of the year!
Interaction with guests
Happy to help in any way with advice and tips. As the editor of the Time Out Guide to St. Petersburg, I'm familiar with every aspect of the city, and can help with everything from the best galleries to the most happening theatres to the hottest night-spots.
Other things to note
Please MAKE SURE that you print out and bring all of your Visa documents, including voucher AND your AirBnB booking confirmation with the names of all travellers entered into the AirBnB system. If you don't have all of this with you at border control, you may be held up for hours at the airport or not be allowed into the country at all.
Furniture is rather minimal at the moment, but I'm in the process of adding more. If there is anything particularly need, please let me know in advance.
I speak good Russian, but apologies if I respond to messages in English. Typing in Cyrillic is sometimes too daunting!!
