Located in a renewed building of the XIX century, this beautiful 1 bedroom duplex apt of 66 m2 offers you an interesting experience of being in a downtown Porto typical building with all the comfort of a modern house with a fully equipped kitchen and garden.

The space
The apartment is located in a four floors renewed building. This 66 sqm first floor apartment was designed to conciliate the contemporary architecture with the ancient and lovely preexisting details of the old building. It has one bedroom, 2 toilets, a living room with a fully equipped kitchenette and two balconies (one in the bedroom and the other in the living room). Its balconies and adorable petit garden allows you to have your break-fast outside (or lunch, or dinner if the weather is good), while enjoying the sun and the neighbourhood cats that usually come to visit us during the day. The apartment solar orientation (facing south), makes it very bright and welcoming!

This comfortable apartment can host 3 people (2 adults in the bedroom and 1 in the living room - the sofa turns into a bed) or 4 people (2 adults in the bedroom and 2 kids in the living room). We provide the sheets, duvets, pillows and towels. The kitchen as a big refrigerator, an oven, a ceramic hob, an extractor, a water boiler, a toaster, plates, cups and cutlery necessary to prepare a nice meal.

As we love to experiment and cook with local ingredients when we are abroad, we provide you aromatic/culinary herbs from our garden, national grown herbal teas (in fact their quality was already rewarded), Portuguese olive oil, 2 small Portuguese traditional soaps (that you can choose from the fragrances available) and a bottle of Douro's red wine. Unfortunately Portugal doesn't have a coffee production but, nevertheless, we provide you some coffee anyway!

All the wall art and glass décor objects (lamps, small objects and/or center pieces) are from Porto artists. In the apartment you'll find more information of each artist.

In this apartment you can find almost everything you need to have a great experience in Porto. The rest you can find outdoors, exploring this beautiful and inspiring city!

Other things to note
This building has no elevator.

This apartment can host 3 people (2 adults in the bedroom and 1 in the living room - the sofa turns into a bed).

Children under 2 years old will not be charged. We provide a cradle and a baby chair.

Where you’ll be

Porto, Portugal

This apartment is located in a peculiar street of Porto downtown. It is an ancient and narrow street that ends in a small XVIII century chapel told to be designed by the architect Nicolau Nasoni, the same responsible for the Clérigos Tower, one of the ex-libris of this city. The Rua do Pinheiro street preserves mostly of its original aspect. In it you can find old buildings, renewed buildings, an ancient bookbinding shop (one of the last in the city), an immigration support center and a small grocery store. This means that in this street you can find a variety of people: the ancient and typical residents, the new and trendy residents, tourists (the ones hosted in the street and the others that pass by), and the migrants of all parts of the world that search for the services of the immigration center (which ad a colour and a cosmopolitan touch to this old street). On the side of the chapel there are granite stairs that lead to where everything happens after the sunset: restaurants and bars. Nevertheless, Rua do Pinheiro is very calm during the night (with the exception of the 24th June when the city festivities arrive also to this small street).

Rua do Pinheiro street is at a walking distance to the most important sites worth to visit: Avenida dos Aliados, Clérigos Tower, Lello Book Store, São Bento Train Station, Ribeira, the Cathedral, São Francisco Church, Palácio da Bolsa, Dom Luis bridge, Soares dos Reis Museum, Majestic Café, the Art Galleries at Miguel Bombarda street, the Bolhão Market, the Crystal Palace Gardens, etc.

My passion to know different cultures is what moves me, both in my personal and in my professional life! In fact I think that the exchange of cultures – and the necessary confrontation with the difference - has the power to make us better human beings... With this family project I have the chance to continue to know different cultures without moving from the city that I love and know by heart: Porto! Be my guest because I will be delighted to show you our culture! There's no reason for you not staying with us. We have 3 more flats in this same building! Check them out!
