The Hungry Hippie Hostel was fantastic! Kate and Jeremy are the sweetest, plus they live in a home on the property and were therefore always close by in case I needed anything. The bunks were clean and cozy, with each bed having its own lamp for those who stay up a bit late (and a jar of ear plugs for those who don't). The bunks are located upstairs-via a separate entrance- with their own half bathroom, while the showers and kitchen are on the main floor. I had a blast sitting around the fire with the others staying at the hostel. Great experience all around, would absolutely stay here again!

This place is a gem in the middle of the Lake Superior forest. The scenery is spectacular, the value is great and Jeremy and Kate are so welcoming. The air is fresh, there are places to hike, and you can make a campfire. Very secluded place to get away- will definitely come back.

This was my first stay at the Hungry Hippie. I loved it and already have reservations for another stay later this summer. The hostel is very clean and cozy. Kate and Jeremy are fantastic hosts. They've thought of everything to make their guests comfortable including beds with plenty of blankets and pillows, complimentary coffee, soap/lotion in the restrooms, and lots of maps and hiking guides to the area. I stayed in the bunkhouse for four nights and enjoyed meeting other hikers and travelers each night.

Beautiful and fun! A bit further out of town than we thought, but well worth it!

I had a wonderful time staying at Hungry Hippie Farm. Kate and Jeremy were great hosts and their dog Charlie is absolutely adorable! The barn was refurbished by Jeremy and the craftsmanship is excellent! I've stayed in hostels around the world and this one is definitely up there on the charm factor. I didn't spend too much time around the farm but did enjoy one afternoon having a great bonfire while watching the sunset over the lake. It was an excellent stay and I had the whole place to myself. This is definitely a place for people who are OK with staying a little bit out of town and mildly "roughing" it. Will come back again!

Kate and Jeremy were great hosts. The lodging is very simple. I felt like it was home the moment I walked in. What a great way to meet interesting people! I will definitely be back!
