Description

The space

Large main floor shared bathroom with shower and claw foot tub. lovely front porch and back yard deck for star gazing, relaxing, sipping coffee or eating your breakfast. Enjoy the ambiance of an old well kept farmhouse from mid 1800's, with original woodwork, and lots of charm. Large yard to
walk around in , large shady trees which are magnificent in autumn.

Guest access

Guests may have access to kitchen, dining room, living room, porches, etc. Homemade baked goods will be served for breakfast buffet style, light breakfast served on weekends. Coffee , tea, juices are always available. The three guest rooms have a common sitting area as well as use of house.

Interaction with guests

I will be available for any questions, directions recommendations for eateries or just idle chit chat! I love to listen to travel stories from others, but will certainly respect your privacy and desire for rest and relaxation.

The neighbourhood

I really am not part of a neighborhood. I have large corner lot as this was originally part of a 200 acre farm. I have a couple acres. But i am close to the beautiful quaint town of Rockford.

Getting around

Parking is right in my yard, public transportation is 2 miles down the road for a bus, but cabs or UBER is always a choice. If i happen to be going near your destination i could certainly offer you a ride.

Other things to note

I have a mid size yellow lab. Her name is Polly .

Jacquie was VERY thoughtful, attentive, and took very good care of us. The home was very unique and original. The breakfast, snacks, and other food / drink items were very good. This is a great place for a family or a few couples. THANKS.

Just as the reviews indicated, Jacquie was more than hospitable! Definitely the most lovely trip with airbnb we've been on so far! Hope to return again!

I cannot express enough what a wonderful and gracious host Jacquie is. Her home is just lovely and so cozy! She made us the most delicious baked goods and breakfast. Even waking up extra early to make sure we had breakfast and sent us off with goodie bags. My daughters and I cannot wait to visit again!

This was our first airbnb experience, and all I can do is echo the great sentiments of other guests. Jacquie is amazing, and her historic home is brimming with charm. We were 6 (3 couples) and the space was perfect and comfy. She also makes an awesome breakfast. Would definitely return.

Jacquie's home is so quaint and homey, yet spacious. She greeted us with baked goods and crackers and wine and did everything within her power to make sure we had a perfect stay. The beds are comfortable and warm and each room is well decorated according to a different theme. This was the best airbnb my significant other and I have ever stayed at. Definitely recommend if you are near the area.

It is hard to imagine a better host than Jacquie. The Yellow Daffodil itself is warm and welcoming, beautifully decorated and replete with a storied history. Each of the bedrooms is thoughtfully and thematically decorated. My wife and I were in the Yukon Room which had photos, memorabilia and books from Alaska. The living and dining areas downstairs were immaculately clean and welcoming, carefully appointed with a skilled eye for detail. As great as the house itself is, Jacquie herself is what makes staying here special. Even though we arrived hours later than expected due to weather related delays, she greeted us personally with warm baked goods, a much appreciated glass of wine, and a generous willingness to stay up and make us feel welcome in her home. Conversing with Jacquie, getting to share stories, observations, holiday cheer and humor, made our stay truly memorable. We would love to have stayed longer. We would be remiss if we failed to mention that Jacquie is a great cook, especially when it comes to breakfast, and that her friendly and playful canine companion Polly is a big plus for dog lovers. If we could give more than 5 stars we would!

Jacquie's home was perfect for us this weekend. Our only regret was that we didn't have more time to spend with her. She was a wonderfully sweet host.

I live in a large historical farmhouse just a few miles from Grand Rapids MI , site of the world renown ART PRIZE, walking and biking trails, great shopping in quaint Rockford. I love cooking so you will enjoy homemade baked goods for breakfast. I have traveled extensively throughout our beautiful state and country as a travel nurse. I would love to share my home with travelers looking for a cozy room for the night.
