I grew up in Wisconsin, the youngest of three children in my family. After graduating from high school I joined the Army and worked for the Pentagon as a motion picture photographer. I traveled around the world filming documentaries. It was during those years that my love of travel was born. After getting out of the military I worked in New York City for CBS and NBC News as a videographer and as a video news editor. I married Dick in 1997 and I have one step daughter, Taylor. In 2005, I underwent a heart transplant and my life changed drastically. No more overseas travel and no more stressful TV news jobs. I moved to Florida to enjoy the slower pace and the sunshine. My husband continued working in New York and he commuted home to Florida. The past several years we started traveling overseas again along with our vacations in the United States. Both my husband and I were avid photographers and we planned our vacations around photographic destinations. In April, 2016 my husband passed away suddenly and unexpectedly while at work. We had many plans to travel as soon as he retired. We never needed anything real fancy when we traveled. A clean, comfortable bed and a hot shower was fine. If we could cook our own meals that was even better. Dick and I were usually up before sunrise and we stayed out all day taking pictures until sunset. Now I hope to travel with friends who share in my same passion for photography and adventure while staying in nice, affordable accommodations. Life is short... go out and live it!
