Peace and quiet

Guests say this home is in a quiet area.
The Petit Mas is peacefully located 3km out of the hustle and bustle of the picturesque and lively town of Lourmarin with its many restaurants, boutique shops, a weekly Friday Provencal Market and a Farmer's Market on Tuesday evenings. Set against the mountains among vineyards and olive groves in the Luberon Natural Regional Park, it has beautiful views across the valley. The farm is a great location for walking, cycling, lazing about or exploring the rest of Provence.

The space
A beautiful, rustic stone house located on a working farm (grapes and olives). Set on the slopes of the Luberon mountains, the property has fantastic views across the valley. The space is bright and airy, with a comfortable open plan living/dining room and separate kitchen. There are two spacious and tastefully decorated bedrooms and a newly refurbished bathroom and separate toilet. The kitchen comes with all necessary amenities, including a Nespresso coffee maker. (Remember to bring coffee pods.) Linen and bath towels are provided.

The terrace and garden area in front of the house provide the perfect place to sit and relax, dine and admire the views. A barbecue is not always available during the summer months due to fire risk. The front garden is enclosed with a fence.

Guest access
Guests can enjoy the many hiking and cycle paths accessible directly from the property.
An AstroTurf tennis court is available for use upon request. Bring your own racquets and tennis balls.
There is a farm basin/reservoir for picnics under the trees and swimming for the adventurous if the spring is running and the reservoir is full of water. Please ask about the water level in the reservoir if this is important for you.

Other things to note
During low rainfall periods, the water level of the grand bassin may not be suitable for swimming. It is still a very beautiful spot for picnics.

The road from Lourmarin is tarred till the turn off into the access road after which it has a gravel surface.

As we have a strict cancellation policy we suggest you ensure that your travel insurance covers any cancellation fees.

The house is not accessible for wheelchair users as there is only a bath with shower in.

Neighbourhood highlights

Situated in the Vaucluse area, Lourmarin has been named as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Surrounded by olive groves, fields and vineyards, the small but lively town is host to many good restaurants, galleries, cafés and a bustling weekly Provencal market on Friday mornings. On Tuesday evenings there is a jolly Farmer's Market at the La Fruitière Numérique on the Avenue du 8 Mai (D943) where you can taste wine, look at cookery demonstrations and buy fresh produce from local farms.

The 15th-century Renaissance chateau holds many events and concerts throughout the year and is a great place to visit for local history.

There are a multitude of historical sights, monuments and gardens to see in the area. Other equally charming villages nearby, such as Cucuron, Lauris, Ansouis and Bonnieux make for good exploring. Other famous villages in Provence are also conveniently located. As well as a weekly market in Lourmarin itself, not far there is the bigger Apt market which takes place each Saturday. For the more adventurous, there are many activities available such as kayaking, horse riding, cycling and hiking. See the tourist bureau in Lourmarin for details. Aix-en-Provence is about 35 mins away, Avignon about 45mins, Marseilles Airport and Marseilles about an hour.

Cultural events happen throughout the year in and around Lourmarin. The music and theatre festivals of Aix-en-Provence and Avignon are easily accessible (max 45 minute drive), and nearby Roque d'Anthéron holds an annual piano festival.

Lourmarin is breathtaking year round: each season brings new colours and textures to the surrounding, abundant nature. With a Mediterranean climate, summers are very warm, whilst snow can sometimes fall in the winter.
