The Yurt is nestled under oak trees on a beautiful private 23 acre property. We have multiple hiking paths, several view points, and a private valley to explore.

You’ll love the expansive views, the privacy, and the seclusion. It's ideal for anyone wanting a peaceful space to get away to write, read, yoga, enjoy nature, and/or relax. Couples, writers, thinkers, families (with kids), and dogs will love it here.

The Yurt is located only 45 from Los Gatos and 50 from Santa Cruz.

The space

Located on our own mountain ridge, the Yurt is nestled under a canopy of oak trees with a breath taking view all the way to Monterrey. Next to the ridge we have a private valley that you're welcome to explore. As you wander to the end of the valley you will discover a beautiful private pond with an infinity view. Many visitors enjoy swimming, kayaking in it, or sunbathing on the "beach".

Guest access

We are located on a 23 acre parcel that is reminiscent of a national park. The redwood forest, oak trees, views, etc. There's so much for you to enjoy. You're welcome to explore the entire property. There are also two picnic tables for eating outside while you enjoying the view, random benches around the property, and a few sky chairs.

Interaction with guests

A host will be available via text message or phone to help with your stay. In general we want you to enjoy your time in our home and space to connect with nature.

Other things to note

Special offer: $50 off each night after your first.. Send a message for the details!

While the Yurt has two beds the listing lets groups of up to 16 people book and use the Yurt as a "base camp" and place tents around outside, car camp, sleeping bags on the deck, etc.

This was a unique Airbnb experience and we are soo glad we did it!! Mitch and MoMo were great hosts, the yurt was great and the view was spectacular. Make sure to get here before Sunset not only so that you can see he great view but also to ensure you don't get lost. The directions are very easy to follow, however the route up does require a car that can handle off-road! Would definitely go back!

The truth is we felt uncomfortable and ended up not spending the night. I'll explain why. I do feel bad writing this because i'm sure everything was fine. We arrived after dark. Yes, the road is obviously very difficult to drive and you're without any reception. But we also passed a couple cars just idling on the side, you pass a couple rusted out, abandoned cars and just a couple other creepy spots. We let a couple cars pass us but there was one truck that didn't want to go around and was following us. We lost the truck but it was a wrong turn, we realized it and turned around. Back on the right road we passed a vehicle with its lights off and someone in the drivers seat. Made no effort to communicate with us. But when we passed it turned on its lights and followed us again. We missed a turn, hit a dead end at a gate and when we turned around the truck was there blocking the only exit except for a driveway. You might imagine, this was an alarming moment. We didn't know if the truck was Mitchel or not. Eventually it put on its turn signal towards the driveway, we took it and one more turn later we spotted the yurt. The door has a lock but it doesn't turn. The wifi lets you connect but you can't actually get internet. Mitchel warns in the check in instructions that the neighbors are unfriendly and not to talk to them. Between all this and our experience driving up, we felt quite uncomfortable and decided to head out of the woods. I'm sure it's fine, but I'd recommend you get there during the day, and that Mitchel fix the lock and find new ways of communicating with folks arriving after dark.

Beautiful spacious yurt in a spectacular location! Perfect if you are looking to decompress in nature and spend some time away from the busyness of life. The space was clean and accurate to the description. It is an adventure to get to the yurt-do not ignore car type requirement. I recommend bringing enough food for your stay, as you will likely want to stay put. Hope to stay here again!

The descriptions and instructions are very accurate... Heed the comments about 4WD being required, and pay attention to the turn-by-turn instructions you receive -- you will be rewarded by amazing views!

The Yurt had incredible views and was very peaceful. There were several great spots to watch the sunset along the hiking trail. Were were able to find enough wood around the land to make a fire for a few hours by the deck, which was pretty magical :) I will definitely get an AWD vehicle if I visit again.
