This chalet makes a fantastic base for exploring Scotland’s natural beauty. The area is rich with lochs, mountains, and outdoor activities including hiking, cycling, and water sports. Lochearnhead is part of the Heart 200, a scenic 200-mile touring route through the heart of Scotland.
Nearby Activities:
Golf: Courses at St Fillans, Comrie, Killin, Crieff, and Callander are all within a 30-minute drive and offer excellent facilities.
Fishing: Available on Loch Earn by boat (from Drummond Fish Farm) or from the shore—permits required.
Water Sports: Wakeboarding, water-skiing, paddleboarding, kayaking, and speed boat trips are offered at Loch Earn Wakeschool, just a 5-minute walk away at The Clachan Hotel. (Please note that The Clachan Hotel is closed for the season from 1st November 2025 - Mid March 2026).

Getting Around:
Walking: Numerous trails start right from the doorstep, including the Glen Trail. For the adventurous, try climbing local Munros such as Ben Vorlich, Ben More, Ben Lawers, and Ben Lomond.
Cycling: National Cycle Route 7 passes through Lochearnhead, offering traffic-free cycling along the former railway line between Callander and Killin. Bike hire is available nearby in Comrie or Callander.
Day Trips by Car: Experience stunning scenery in Glencoe (40 mins), Pitlochry (60 mins), Oban and surrounding isles (50 mins), or visit Stirling Castle and The Wallace Monument, all within an hour’s drive.
Food & Drink:
Clachan Hotel: 5-minute walk from the chalet and local favourite for food and drink. (Please note that The Clachan Hotel is closed for the season from 1st November 2025 - Mid March 2026).
Mhor 84 Motel: A popular spot on Rob Roy’s Way for lunch and dinner. 10-minute drive from the chalet, best to book ahead.
Achray House: Popular restaurant in St Fillans with views over Loch Earn, 15-minute drive from the chalet.
The Royal Hotel Comrie: Lovely, homely restaurant and bar in Comrie 20-minute drive from the chalet.
Thyme Bistro at Errichel House: A most wonderful spot to visit for breakfast, brunch or lunch or just a coffee and homemade cakes. Also has a well-stocked Deli and Farm shop. You'll travel towards Aberfeldy taking in some breath-taking scenery through the ‘Sma Glen’.
