I am a tenured college instructor. I like to travel, research and make things large and small on my semester breaks. I like reading, from fiction, biographies and essays to current events, history and popular science, and I try to keep up with major developments in the world. My favorite way to discover places is to walk, walk and walk some more, although riding a bicycle is good, too. When I'm at home, I'm generally pretty quiet, engaging in the interests above, or watching something with subtitles or a cheezy suspense movie.
I have a lovely, older Australian Shepherd mix dog who goes with me on road trips but stays with her second family when I fly.
