This great corner house in northwest Philly is a block from the Mt. Airy Train Station and Route 23 Bus, walking to shopping and restaurants in Mt. Airy and Chestnut Hill, and historic Germantown. High ceilings, beautiful woodwork, diverse and welcoming people, big trees and old houses. Mt. Airy is one of the most racially diverse neighborhoods in the U.S! Close to Wissahickon Park. This house is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups.

The space

This is an old house, so for people who enjoy old houses. It has old house bonuses and quirks. The air conditioning is window units, not central air.

Guest access

The first and second floor are for guests. The basement and 3rd floor are storage and off limits to guests. Thanks!

Interaction with guests

You can always call or text me or my husband.

Other things to note

We are working on the landscaping and may be attending to it during your stay. It is a work in progress.

This is a great place and Kate was a lovely host. The house is huge and has beautiful exposed oak everywhere and it's only a couple of minutes walk down to Germantown Ave.

This was the perfect place for my husband and I and our grown children and their partners to spend the weekend while in town for a wedding. We loved the spaciousness of the house, the front porch for morning coffee, period furniture throughout, etc. Very clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay again! Very accommodating hosts.

Kate was great! We live in the area and Kate allowed us to see the house before our daughters came for our wedding weekend. It worked perfectly for our family.

This place was perfect for my family of six. We moved our twins into UPenn. We stored all the luggage at the house then made our way to King of Prussia mall to do shopping for items we didn't want to bring from CA. It was so helpful to have such a large space to work with. We also were treated to a fantastic storm that we all enjoyed from the porch. We felt very comfortable here and walked to dinner and coffee three times during our stay. Only caution I'd suggest is driving rather slowly from fwy to house as the road is a tad narrow. We got the hang of it in a day or so. Great place!!!

This house was just as promised in the listing: beautiful, spacious, and perfect for families. Our kids loved having so much room to move and we loved the large porch and had most of our meals out there. The SEPTA train is at the end of the block, not that you'd know because it amazingly quiet! There are restaurants and stores in easy walking distance also. We took many strolls around the neighborhood to see all the old beautiful stone houses. If you are looking for a roomy place for your stay and would prefer to be outside of the Center City hubbub, then this place is it. A charming and well-equipped rental with a gracious, easy-to-contact host. Would heartily recommend!

Probably the coolest house on Airbnb. Really large old house in the well established and diverse Mt. Airy neighborhood. The house was built in the 1920's and has had some modern features added. The huge front porch was a great place to hang out. Really large house, 5 adults and never felt cramped. Communication with out host Kate was great, check in easy as could be.
