The space

This room has a double and single bed. No ensuite, sorry!
Access to room is up a narrow staircase. Mind your head!
We have another double room on a separate listing.
We have a very friendly black and white cat who will visit you during your stay if you leave your window or door open!
We have a ton of books that you are welcome to borrow during your stay. We are walking distance to all the lovely bars and restaurants that Skerries has to offer. The beach is only 5 minutes walk away. On street parking is paid by meter but you can find some free spots on the South Beach which is only about 7 minutes walk away.

Guest access

You are welcome to use the kitchen to cook your own meals.
We have two showers, one power shower and one electric, but only one toilet.
You are welcome to use the bbq in the yard.

Interaction with guests

Antonio is from Brazil and speaks fluent English, Portuguese, some Spanish and French. I'm Irish and from Dublin city. We are usually there during your stay but will advise if not. We love to meet new people but we are happy to leave you to it.

Other things to note

*The stairs to the loft is very narrow (photo on profile) and quite steep, might not suit some people.
*There are a few free parking spaces on the south beach which is only approx. 5 minutes walk away.
*A light breakfast is provided. Please let me know if you have food allergies.
*Our cat Chica is very talkative and needy. Not suitable for animalphobes.

Very welcoming and although she apologised for a minimal breakfast it turned out to be just great! Nice bread, juice, toaster, coffee/tea, a neighbours home-made jam as I recall, cereal.

Our stay at Karen and Antonios place was great. We wanted a place to crash for a night before heading to the airport early that was also in an interesting town, and we got exactly that! We definitely recommend staying here and grabbing dinner along the boardwalk.

Karen and Antonio are exceptional hosts. I stayed much longer than the average bnb-er, and so I was fortunate to develop a close friendship with both them; going out for food and drinks, having long talks, and exchanging videos and such on the internet. I know many people are not necessarily looking for this kind of connection. But Karen and Antonio are genuinely warm people, and I consider myself very lucky to have stayed with them. As for the area, their home is walking distance to all the nightlife and cafés around. It's right on the tip of the peninsula, so there's beach and water on all sides. The food is great everywhere, and not TOO pricey. It's a really beautiful place filled with good, caring, friendly people. I hope to return some day.

We had a lovely stay at Karen's place. She gave us really nice tips and suggestions what we could do in the neighborhood and she was always willing to help us when we had questions. You can stroll on the beach and it was a perfect place for walking. It is kind of a village with small shops and restaurants, it's all very cozy. And it is a perfect place to make room for thoughts and for relaxation and to enjoy the beautiful nature.
